Mess with Awvee Storey, Meet the ICU

Everyone who cared about the brawl is a moron. Melo's penalty only makes sense if you think Stern is trying to say "you let yourself and the league down."

Why can I say this? Because Thursday on the Down Low, there was a fight that borderd on this type of mayhem. Awvee Storey, best know as Gilbert Arenas's chief running buddy, went buck wild on Martynas Andriuskevicius, a Euro who I think is quite tall. Both are currently doing time with the Dakota Wizards, and this actually went down during practice:

The 7-2, 240-pound Andriuskevicius, 20, spent Thursday night in intensive care in Bismarck, N.D.

"He has a skull fracture, severe concussion and a two-centimeter hematoma on the left side of his brain," Andriuskevicius' agent Herb Rudoy said. "They've been monitoring him because they're concerned about seizures."

"From what I'm told, when he got hit unexpectedly, he went out cold instantly and fell right back on his head."

Okay, there's your thugged-out madness, your criminals on the court, your black eyes on the face of American athletics. Storey's been suspended indefinitely from the NBDL and, ironically, the NBA he couldn't crack this season. Andriuskevicus isn't looking to press charges, since, as Storey's agent Mark Bartelstein puts it:

"Awvee's a terrific kid," said his Chicago-based agent Mark Bartelstein. "They had an altercation in practice, and it's really unfortunate." "I know Awvee feels terrible about it. It wasn't a situation where he just attacked the kid."

To be fair, it seems like a lot of the damage came from the impact with the ground. Still, it's looking like Andriuskevicius might never play again, and Storey might've killed his career, too. Moralizers, take note: this is what an real on-court drama looks like.

Storey should be arrested and put in jail like the criminal act he committed is waranted.Andriuskevicius shouldnt have to press charges being it was a crime and witnessed by many.JAIL !!!

Martynas Andriuskevicius was once considered to be a top NBA draft pick a few years ago? It's a shame what has happened since then. He's a member of his 3rd team, and is toiling around in the D-League. He'll probably be remembered more as an example against drafting foreign players, along the likes of "Skita" and "Potapenko."

They say you can't teach height, but if there is no skill or bulk, what does it matter...

Mutoni, They won't put my comments about reverse discrimination that I sent. Doesn't surprise me.

Probably just another black player assaulting a white player. No big deal, happens all the time. Even gets a headline of "Mess with Awvee Storey, meet the ICU". Imagine the if the roles were reversed, a white player sucker punching a black player and sending him to ICU. He'd have Al Sharpten turning the key on his jail cell. Whitey deserves it, right?

Come on AOL, you'd be all over the racism aspect if it were a white boy sucker punching a black guy.

Storey is a racist. This happens all the time in college and the NBA. White players are always being assaulted by black racist players, yet, nothing is ever made of it by the press. Just another double standard in which blacks get away with whatever they want. (Then cry racism if it happens to them)

dudes, let me break it down for you: white skin is not the same thing as someone being "a white person." "white people" and "black people" are something that americans talk about; in other places, there are different ways of breaking down cultural and ethnic groups.

for example, in great britain, there are africans, there are jamacians, and there are dark people from the middle east. they are not all thought of as the same thing. for a long time, britain discriminated against the irish like they were black, even though they were really white. go figure.

if you're trying to talk racism, that's just not a meanginful distinction to draw when you're talking about someone outside of america. things are much more complicated if you bring in someone who doesn't think like americans do. if andy, the victim, did think it was an act of racism, he'd probably think it was american vs. european, not black vs. white.

allow me to blow your mind for a second: are cuban people black? or white? wait, some of them are each? both? wait, i thoguht that they were hispanic, like mexicans? wait, aren't dominicans black? hey, this is kind of complicated. maybe we should ask the lithuianian guy to straighten it all out.

A jail term is justified. It matters not if the bulk of the damage was done by the floor. The thug created the fall and deserves to do time. It's a simple and realistic equation.
