Ron Artest Accused of Animal Cruelty

Ron isn't a bad guy... He admitted there was a problem. Apparently, he hired the WRONG DUDE to take care of his dogs and he also said that one of his other dogs (he has 4) dominated all the food. If Ron was truly an animal abuser, ALL the dogs would be skinny -- and they would have taken them ALL away. Ron is 28, has 3 wonderful young children, a wife, a very demanding career, a music business, a 5 acre estate and 4 dogs. Perhaps he is overwhelmed by it all. Hopefully, once he gets SOCKS back, the NEW puppy caretaker he hired will make sure he is properly taken care of.

He can barely speak because he has so few brain cells - even though he supposedly attended college for free. I am just glad he is out of Indy. He used to regularly park in handicap spots because he felt entitled due his status. What is next? Don't forget he also has kids? Just think this superstar has kids. Isn't world lucky to have him. I am an animal lover we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds and 3 fish people who abuse animals should be treated the same as people who abuse children. Your pets are an extension of your family and should be treated as such. Ron Artest has no class on the basketball court why do people expect him to have class off the court? And just think people are paying him to act like an ass...Hopefully he will not be in the NBA for long and I will not have to hear his name again.

If professional baseball players can be banned from ever playing again (Pete Rose)...why doesn't society push for all the other professional overpaid athletic lawbreakers to follow the suit?

They should have a clause in every professional contract that if they (the athlete) is convicted of a crime, they lose their contract. Any honorable law-abiding citizen wouldn't have a problem with signing such a contract. A simple fine means nothing to these atheletes - they've got the money to throw away because they are ridiculously overpaid to begin with.

I think Ron Artest should have been more responsible. A simple fine is not going to be enough for a man who makes so much money. All he had to do was get a reputable individual to look after his dog while he was away. He has enough money to do that!!!

Dogs should never be left outside for long periods of time, they get aggressive and destructive. Some men should not have children OR pets, looks like that goes for this situation too.

The owners, the coaches and the fans have created these people. No matter what they do, the fans still insist on going to the games and watching these "professionals" play ball. The owners and the coaches will do anything to keep them on the team, no matter what kind of crime they may commit, because after all its not about how unlawfull they may be "Its all about winning" PATHETIC!!!!!

Artest is a selfish boor and now stands accused of abusing animals. Well, it can be possible that it was being left outside for months at a time with no food and water because the neighbors said they were feeding it and one person bought it a water thing. So, yes it is possible for the dog not to be dead.
And is #20 Artest himself? "He admitted there was a problem??? No he blamed other people and didn't take responsibility. First it was the person he hired wasn't coming over and then he got a "new" person to do the job. Then it was his bulldog's fault. Even if his other animals are dominating the food, it is his responsibility as a pet owner to make sure all of his pets are getting along. If you have tried everything and they still can't get along, then you get rid of one. End of story. Point is, he isn't taking responsibility for his actions in this. Animal Control left a notice. He didn't remedy the situation. His dog got taken away. What they need to do is not give it back.
