Fred Jones for Juan Dixon was the blockbuster.Anthony Johnson for a second-rounder got people excited.
Not one of FanHouse's dreams came true.
The Cavaliers did not get a point guard, the Bulls did not get a post scorer (not even Brian Skinner!), the Lakers did not get Jason Kidd (thanks, D'Antoni!), Paul Pierce did not get his sidekick, Marcus Banks did not get his freedom, and all this blogger got was a hellacious headache. (Actually, in Sacramento, that'd be "heckacious." Whoops.)
All things considered, though: Allen Iverson did get traded earlier this year, and Stephen Jackson and Mike Dunleavy danced in the night last month. The excitement was just... erm... spread out.
It'll be several months before trade rumors start percolating again. Once the ping pong balls settle and we know who has dibs on 1a and 1b, assets will fly again.
Next time, though, let's skip the foreplay to make sure we get some action.
