Sometimes, we take landing for granted. The jumping seems like the hard part, the landing should come easy. Sometimes it is, sometimes it can go horribly wrong. For Shaun Livingston last night on this fast break against the Bobcats, it went terribly, terribly, wrong.
Amazingly, it's just been diagnoses as a dislocation. Not that a dislocation isn't serious, but you see something like that, and you're thinking about the unholy triad of the ACL, MCL, and Medial Meniscus.

After seeing that clip, they're going to have to anesthetize ME before they pop Shaun's leg back into place....That looks worse than Britney with a shaved head!

it's the price you pay for being a full-time professional athlete. The average schmuck does not deal with these type of injuries but they do not make millions and get pampered and coddled by their employers either. It is part of the game, period. Do I feel for the guy? Sure. But players assume these risks. The crybabies need to put a cork in their mouths. They whine when injured and whine when it is contract time. What would they have done 50 years ago when a guaranteed contract was unheard of in sports?

Professional football and basketball are probably two of the most physically demanding sports an individual could subject themselves to.
Interesting... I see people making comments about injuries and the extent pain a person feels in regards to it. As an individual that has had 2 knee operations and a severe sprain to my most heavily damaged knee, I won't be making any such comments. The cavalier comments are a telltale sign that you think you like sports but you don't particularly care for the people that play them at the highest level and that is fine too.
Why don't you do us a favor and stop paying attention to sports, go do charity work or something else? I don't like what happens in sports figures personal lives generally so I DO NOT WATCH! Why don't you pay more attention to the political or economic climate in your own country? By doing that, you could limit the amount of money pro atheletes make. That, in fact is truly the source of your bitterness.
Tough break for Shaun. He's had a similar injury earlier in his short professional career. I have already prayed that he will come back better than ever.
As an individual that also attended Peoria Central High (like Livingston) I can tell you that Shaun carries the hopes and dreams of all of us that grew up playing and loving basketball in the Central Illinois area. It is not often that individuals emerge from Peoria in spite of their skill level. God bless him in his recovery.

Ouch that is nasty!!! D-Wade is not a whimp because I am sure that it hurt a hell of a lot but he must LOOK like a big puss because Shaun did not really shed a tear. And did you see his knee it is so far out of place.

The pain and the horrific aspects of the injury are second to Shaun's speedy recovery. Wishes that he may be back playing in full health and making a contribution to improve the image of a troubled NBA.

Yeah I am suffering the same injury. By far the worst pain ever, and has not been a great recovery process either. The shoulder injury like d wade has had. Isnt anything close to the knee pain.
