First of all, congratulations to LeBron James on his forthcoming baby boy and his impressive performance for this month. Let's not forget how well things could be going for The King. But he had to go around and ruin it with a potential PR disaster. With Wade likely out of this summer's USA Basketball stuff, apparently James is now less than enthusiastic. Or at least having some serious second thoughts. From the Akron Beacon-Journal:
With Dwyane Wade very likely out of this summer's FIBA Americas Tournament in Las Vegas with a shoulder injury, James said playing for Team USA is "less appealing."As is par for LeBron, it's hard to tell exactly what is he thinking. Is he worried about injury and fatigue, or just less motivated without Wade there to spur him on? Is it the teamwork or competition with Wade that he'll miss.
Wade's injury "kind of makes you sit back and think about the situation," James said. "I don't know what the setup is going to be. It being in Vegas is most persuasive; that is a good reason why I would play. But at the same time, you have to think about getting a little rest."
More importantly, though: the Americas part of the FIBA tournament is in Vegas? Vegas? Either Colangelo does have a sense of humor, or this is another one of his moral crusades. You know, USA Basketball can not embarrass itself in a city that ASW nearly destroyed. If you can't win games, you might as well make points about good behavior. Which, after all, is the key to worldwide expansion.

Congratulations to the "KING" on the Birth of Baby Boy! Don't worry about the the USA Basketball thing, since I have to say that you should stay home and Bond with your New Born child, Basketball will always be there! A child grows up so fast and needs a Father more than a Sport needs a Man!
You know who is really tired of FIBA? Cleveland fans. LeBron has seemed lethargic all season long and I can't help but wonder what this season would be like if LeBron had the same energy, effort and focus this season that he appeared to have last season.
They have one of the top records in the east, but unless you watch the games, you have no idea how painful this team is to watch on a nightly basis.
Playing for your country is an an honorable thing to do but being a good father is even more honorable. James needs to take the time off and rest and spend time with his child. The NBA season takes him away enough as it is. The two most important things in his life are his child and career.
I would imagine that Wade and Lebron had a great time playing together instead of against one another. I think they better go back and beg Arenus and Bowan to come give them some help.

Play or don't play. Who cares!? All U.S. Basketball needs is Superman. Not that dinosaur shaq!!! You all may call him Mr. Bryant.
One (1) Kobe will make up for both crybaby wade & "I'll try anything to win the All-Star game MVP" lebron. Neither of them were dynamic last summer.
Let's re-cap: 1 cry baby wade, + 1 so-so in international play, lebron, (almost) = 1 Kobe Bryant.
I anticipation of all arm chair atheletes's comments: Suck on it!
Call me old fashioned, but is LeBron James married? Or is this the second child he has fathered out of wedlock? That is a GREAT example and ROLE MODEL for the young impressionable fans that want to be just be like LeBron James! He needs a few lessons in keeping it in his pants or how to use birth control or to settle down and get married! One out of wedlock baby is too many, two is inexcusable! Oh, but I'm not suppose to bring this up, it's not PC (Politically Correct) to be talking this way about a superstar -- having babies out of wedlock makes them more manly! BULL SH*T! Enough said.
Lebron was not exactly impressive last year at the World Championships. If he misses this summer's tournament will not be much of a loss.
