There was one other indisputable highlight from last night. Ron Artest, who in the past has hit the court with a mohawk and a 'do promoting his record label, decided to promote unity through his scalp. As Artest himself told the Sacramento Bee:
Ron Artest changed his hairstyle on Thursday night, trumping the Mohawk he wore back in mid-January with a more loyal look. He shaved "Kings" on the back of his head, with the lettering stretching from his left ear and nearly to his forehead on the other side.Just when Artest's looking like he's worn out his welcome...he comes with something that emphatically embraces the team. I'll never really understand why Arenas is "quirky" but Artest is merely a "thug." Sure, he might punch a few people, but otherwise he's the purest oddball this sport has.
"You can do that when you're on the best team in the league," the hyperbole-prone Artest said as he bounded through the locker room before the Kings faced the Lakers.

WHO CARES His head his style get over it
Artest only did that so that when he forgets his head somewhere people know to return it to the Kings...like a license plate
Punched a few people ... destroyed a television camera in New York, suspended numerous times for excessive flagrant fouls, starved his dog. And while it's not an act of thuggery, the whole asking for time off to promote his record label wasn't good for PR.
I put Artest in the same league as T.O. YUCK AND DOUBLE YUCK!!!
Here i go again. Except for the dog bit, Artest has show nothing but class since he has joined the Sacramento Kings. The Guy comes to play, hard, every minute of every game. I didn't follow him much before, but now he has become a favorite player.
Reminds me of a old boss that i could hardly satisfy. We always worked our tails off, him included. One day he caught me in a slack moment and exclamed, "i'm not paying you by the hour, i'm paying you by the minute, and what have you done to earn your money in this last minute." Always got a kick out a that but what i wanna say is that Ron Artest does earn his money every minute.
I like his Doo, Keep up the good work Ron and i'm not going to be surprised when the Kings make the playoffs.
He reminds us a bit too much of Dennis Rodman with the hair stuff...
I AM GLAD ARTEST IS OUT OF INDY. HE IS A SKILLED THUG-IDIOT. THE PACERS HAD THE BEST RECORD IN THE NBA WHEN ARTEST CHASED A FAN INTO THE STANDS FOR THROWING A WATER BOTTLE IN HIS DIRECTION. BEN WALLACE SHOVED ARTEST ALL OVER THE PALACE AND HE DID NOTHING. HE IS NOT A S CRAZY AS WE ALL THINK BECAUSE HE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT BEN WALLACE WOULD HAVE BEAT HIM LIKE A DOG. SPEAKING OF DOGS MR SELF ABSORBED CANT EVEN FEED OR WATER HIS DOGS. WHAT A JERK. I WILL CELEBRATE THE DAY HE IS OUT OF THE NBA. THE LAST YEAR WITH THE PACERS HE WANTED TO TAKE TIME OFF AWAY FROM THE COURT TO PROMATE A CD THAT SOLD A FEW THOUSAND COPIES. RON ARTEST A TRULY SELF ABSORBED THUG-IDIOT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE NBA. I MISS MJ.. ROGER G..
who cares? He's probably the hardest working player in the league. Look at all the athletes who milk it day in and day out.
Ron is mentally ill,I dont say that to be mean,he wont be reading this,he really is mentally ill.If he did not have the skills he does athleticly he would be on the street or more likely jail.watch what happens when he's through with ball, something horrible.
Who cares?!?!?!!! He is not the first person to do it and he won't be the last. No one cared about it when players were doing it years before and no one will care now or later. He may have had some issues but he plays hard every night no matter what his hair looks like. If it's a PR stunt, it worked because people are talking about him and the Kings!
Ron Artest single-handedly brought down the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers were a championship caliber team before he started the brawl in Detroit. The suspensions ruined that season, then, after Pacer brass and the fans backed him during the offseason, he came back and asked for a trade. His backstabbing
psychotic, me-first behavior will soon ruin all the dreams of the Sacramento Kings. He is a ticking time
bomb not unlike Terrell Owens and Pac Man Jones.
OKAY.. OKAY... ALREADY... LET IT GO HE IS ONLY HUMAN BESIDES IF HE PLAYED HOCKEY YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM EVERY NIGHT THEY ONLY BREAK UP FIGHTS WHEN YOU FALL ON THE ICE AS LONG AS YOU ARE STANDING... FIGHT ON!! SHAMEFUL WITH ALL OF THE KIDS IN THE AUDIENCE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE YOU HOCKET PARENTS DON'T MIND LETTING YOUR KIDS SEE A FIGHT THEN AND TO YOU RON LOVE THE LOOK KEEP IT MOVIN'''
Good for Him, maybe, he has something going, we all thought, Dennis was a bit of a odd ball, turns out, love or hate it Rodman is an All-Star,hall of Famer, as is Artest, hard working, you bet
Dude, half the freakin world already does it. U SUCK!
Very well spoken by rogerg...I, too, miss the class, style and skills of Michael Jordan. He and other classy guys like him seem to be in short supply in the NBA nowadays. I've gone from being a rabid fan to an occassional viewer of the NBA on television and other media. By what I'm hearing, there are thousands more like me. Too bad. So sad. It seems the thugs are taking over. What a waste. Hopefully, things will get better...but I kinda doubt it.
ALL I WANT TO SAY IS YOU DON'T LIKE ARTEST, DON'T WATCH MY LOVING KINGS. GO KINGS! ! ! !
yea micheal Jordan was real classy give me a break. just because he wore a suit all the time u think hes classy. Yea screwing around with other women when ur married and have kids thats classy???? i dont think so
I like it but what if he gets traded that would be funny
i like it but what if he get traded that would be funny
To all you haters why can you give the guy a break , he deserve the right to do what he wants with his head. look at all the rest of tatto freaks running around the league. I guess all you haters are white
