Just in case you were starting to think he's more "quirky" than "thuggish," Ron Artest was arrested on a domestic violence charge this morning. From the Sacramento Bee:Deputies who responded to Artest's home found a woman who had called 911 and, after interviewing her and Artest separately, arrested the Kings player.According to the report, a spokesman for the Placer County sheriff department indicated the woman "had injuries but she declined medical attention." There doesn't appear to be too much else information at the moment -- the Kings, understandably, aren't commenting just yet -- but perhaps more will be revealed during the sheriff department's press conference at 4 pm local (7 pm eastern).
Artest was arrested a charge of domestic violence and of using force or violence to prevent his victim from reporting a crime, officials said. He was booked into the Placer County Jail and bail was set at $50,000.
Ironically enough, the Kings host a team all too familiar with Artest's antics when the Pacers come to town tomorrow, though it's probably safe to say Artest will likely miss that game.

Ron Artest is a disgrace to Saint John's University, his alma mater. Read "Cancer: We Live and Die by Radiation" an important new book by Michelangelo Delfino, a '72 graduate of Saint John's University and well respected medical scientist.

Well, It was a matter of time before Artest snapped in Sacremento. He may have been trying to make a rap album when smacked his woman. The man needs a check up from the neck up!

Well, she DID break his Hummer's windshield. I'm not saying he didn't domestically abuse her, but still....at least there weren't any baked goods thrown.

How does someone like this have a job? I mean what a role model for these young black kids. It's "superstars" like Artest and Steven Jackson from the Pacers and damn near half of the NBA players that lead these young kids to murder, drugs, violence because they think that if the NBA players or any other major sport athelete is doing it, they have to also because that's the way to make millions. NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB should have a 2 strikes and you're out rule, meaning if the player gets arrested to domestic abuse, or weapon charges or any other felony, they're banned from playing and banned from the arenas

Let me give you the jest
of a man named Artest
he doesn't seem his best
when he has to beat his wife for what he injest
cause we all seen the results from the test
And this coming from a man we thought was blessed
surely came from his mouth that he was the best
at taking it to the hole, but only at an offense
to woman who have to take defense
at being in the presence
of a man who's clearly confessed
at the mere jest
that he needs Jesus.
A boy put in the limelight of a sports figure. Don't we need the top performers to have a constant babysitter asigned to them especially after any altercation before hand that will tarnish their image and or the teams? With all the maoney they make it should be a prerequisite to signing a contract. Case in point.

Ron Artest is married to his high school sweetheart. They are both young, so they fight. Hopefully, especially for the sake of their 3 children, they’ll learn from this and in time get things figured out. BTW, Ron’s dog Socks was removed NOT because he had no food, but because he was afraid of the Bulldog who was dominating the food. And regarding the brawl 2 and 1/2 years ago — the fan who tossed a full cup of beer and ice into his face started the brawl, not Artest. Artest was assaulted and honestly, I probably would have gone after the guy too. Me thinks — you all must have very low opinions of yourselves — so you put ARTEST down to make yourselves feel better. We used to do that in HIGH SCHOOL!!!

Ron Artest is operating in his mind with a Core
Belief system or thinking, which is not in his full
awareness yet. It is a defensive set, ready to strike
when provoked. He needs professional help and good
support group of peers to help him get over it, and
get beyond it. Otherwise he will sentence himself to
a very self destructive path. --a Therapist view
