More Artest Fallout; Audio Tape From 911 Call

According to a Sherrif's report (made public today), Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest slapped a woman's face and caused visible injuries on her body while trying to stop her from calling the cops. He was arrested yesterday and released from the Placer County Jail on $50,000 bail.
"Victim sustained visible trauma after being repeatedly grabbed by Artest and pushed to the floor," said the Placer County Sheriff's Department report. "Artest then slapped victim's face [and] by use of force prevented victim from leaving."
According to the Sacramento Bee, the police report said the motive for the crime was "anger over marital issues and comment (victim) made to suspect."

The Kings are being very cautious with their statements to the press, which is probably for the best.
"We're just kind of wait and see," team spokesman Troy Hanson said. "I think there's a lot of things we still need to look at."
As for the 911 tape, you can click here to download the audio file and listen.

The lady on the tape sounds very calm, and says that Ron Artest is standing next to her (and that "he's upset"). She claims that she's been hit (and that her finger is bleeding). Unfortunately, there also appears to be a child in the background as the lady talks to the police.

Just ugly, ugly stuff.
