Carmelo Anthony's a Father

No wonder Carmelo Anthony's had so much trouble with his coach in the last couple weeks - dude was about to be a Dad! At 1:35 Wednesday, Anthony's fiancee, LaLa Vazquez, gave birth to a baby boy, the first couple's first child. Kiyan Anthony weighs five pounds and 9 1/2 ounces, and he's 18 1/2 inches long, Anthony's agent told the Denver Post.

The paper is also reporting that Anthony will skip the Nuggets next game against Denver, but will return to action Friday against the Detroit Pistons.

I'm going to go ahead and predict that for the remainder of the regular season, Anthony goes on a tear. Do you know how stressful it is when your wife is pregnant? Not that I'm quite there yet, but I've witnessed close friends struggle with a pregnant wife. It's difficult. With this burden lifted, Anthony is a mortal lock to secure the NBA scoring title, and propel the Nuggets into the playoffs.

I'm a bit surprised the Nuggets would elect to keep this a big secret, instead of possibly offering it as a reason as to why Melo's mind may have been elsewhere in recent weeks. Let's see ... regular season game against Atlanta, or being on the verge of a life-changing experience?

Uh, what secret? This has been in the papers, in the blogs, hell, they even discussed it last night on the local telecast. I mean, I know you probably didn't watch, but it wasn't a secret. I even happen to know that they induced labor, so, yeah. No secret.

As a side note, I hope you're right about the way the rest of the season goes. I predict he'll get the scoring title, but I don't think his terrible body language and sloppy play of late have been related to Lala being preggers. . .

Try dealing with her postpartum depression, or better yet, just wait 'til she shaves her head and checks into rehab. Then he can call Lindsay Hunter for advice on which of his wife's meds to take.

I love carmelo anthony i know everything about him to his favorite color to his favorite food i bet that lala doesnt know anthing about him that i know about him cause i love him way more than she do and not to play her because i would never hurt the love of my lovers life but she need tyo grow some hair and stop wearing all that weave wear ypur real hair because you have nice real hair it aint betta than mine but it is nice and good luck with being a father baby i love u and i love you to kiyan

Congrats, Melo and LaLa! It's about time! I've seen the pictures. Kiyan is absolutely gorgeous! Now you guys GET MARRIED, ALREADY! I remember LaLa when she was a radio DJ here in Atlanta on 97.5. Moved up in the world haven't you! CONGRATS!
