Paul Pierce Likes Two of His Teammates

Paul Pierce, who for some crazy reason wants to actually win games (?!?!), has apparently picked his favorite teammates.

"Me, Delonte [West] and Al [Jefferson] are the main pieces to this team, and the reason most nights that we win is because of the things we're doing out there."

Pierce followed by mumbling, "Scalabrine and Szczerbiak - they can go to hell."

Pierce has made it well known that he's sick of losing and he can't wait around for some more rebuilding. He's even went so far as to say he hopes the team trades its assumedly high pick in the upcoming draft for a veteran sidekick.

So his embrace of at least two Celtic youngsters -- one a poor man's Karl Malone and the other a hybrid between Mike Bibby and Don Juan -- is an important step in his acceptance that Danny Ainge is not a very good general manager and will probably not be able to deal Sebastian Telfair, Scals, and Wally for Kevin Garnett this offseason. (Though anything is possible when Kevin McHale -- greatest GM evar -- is involved.)
