Rasheed Wallace picked up his 16th technical of the season last night in Denver, which means he has also picked up a one game suspension. The suspension will be served during tomorrow's game in Los Angeles against the disappointing Clippers, so it may not impact his squad that much this time. Wallace was asked about the suspension after the game, and predictably he was less than repentant in his response:
"It don't matter to me. They think suspending me one game, I'm losing all this money and this and that. Money ain't nothing to me for the simple fact I wasn't born with it. Just as fast as you get money, you can lose money. Money's not going to change my character, money's not going to change the person I am."
*Sigh* I realize the question that was posed here probably involved something about missing a game's pay, which goes along with the suspension. So if 'Sheed doesn't care about the money, that's fine, but it would be nice if he cared about his teammates who want to win games, and who will have a harder time doing so with Wallace on the sidelines.
Amare Stoudemire of the Suns is very close to putting his team in the same situation. He's currently sitting on 14 technicals, just two away from the mandatory suspension. Amare claims not to swear at the officials, and that he gets them for small gestures he makes instead. That doesn't change the fact that he's still getting them, so he needs to stop doing things like rolling the ball after a questionable call, or throwing the ball at a player on the ground after he's just run them over and received an offensive foul.
Both the Suns and the Pistons need all the wins they can get to position themselves for a run deep into the playoffs. It's too bad that they have selfish superstars that are more interested in expressing their feelings on the court than they are in helping their teams win.

look this is a really dumb rule, i would already be kicked out , you can't say anything , or even throw your hands up,..... now high schools want to stop the fans, not students, but all fans, boys ,girls, men , women from even booing , or yelling , during a free throw.... it's dumb....... Rasheed Wallace , i'm a fan and i on his side, no matter what, this is just wrong....and ....DUMB...

i love sheed and the passion he has for the game...however, i see the big picture, and i wish he would...bottom line is we need him in the line up....we all know that some of the techs are only given becauses of his rep...but you can't really do anything about that...let's just hope there aren't too many more of these suspensions down the line

Brett Edwards,Sigh, you gotta read between the lines. Rasheed does care for his teammates, he is just playing with the league saying that they are after his money with the 16 technical foul limit rule.Besides, Pistons will be fine, they got the Eastern Conference locked. And props to Sheed for saying that out loud.
