This is the latest in the ugly Ron Artest domestic abuse saga: He's been ordered by a Placer County Superior Court judge to stay at least 100 yards away from his wife (Kimsha Artest) and children until further notice.
"We all decided that was the right thing to do for the family," lawyer William Portanova said. "That is the right thing for now."
Ron Artest's attorney entered pleas of not guilty to the charges of battery and corporal injury to a spouse, false imprisonment and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. Artest confirmed that he understood the conditions of the restraining order.

According to the judge, Artest will still be allowed to communicate with his family by telephone, e-mail and letter. Ron Artest is due back in court on April 5.
