All of the Fanhouse guys are on what I like to call an e-mail ring. About 10 of us ping e-mails back and forth all day, talking about the NBA and deciding on what we're going to post. About two weeks ago, after Kobe was suspended a second time by the league for his flailing elbows, I wrote something like: 'Kobe's about to explode. His team's been decimated by injuries and you can see the frustration in his eyes, and that's why he's jacking scrubs like Kyle Korver in the face. He's about to explode.'I figured it would result in a fight of some kind, perhaps a war of words escalating into another Child Childs or Reggie Miller moment.
Instead, he's taking out his frustration on the entire league, assaulting David Stern and the other 29 teams with an onslaught of scoring previously reserved for the likes MJ and Wilt. You think I need to throw those elbows? Think again. You think I'm a dirty player? Show me a dirty player that can score 175 points in three straight games.
During this three-game scoring orgy, Kobe's raising his arms out to the entire league, as if to ask, 'what is this Dirk-Nash MVP talk. Have you forgotten moi?'
And while I've been down on Kobe for a few years now, maintaining that I'd rather have Dwyane Wade, and that LeBron is a better overall player, this quote right here is vintage Kobe. And I'm a sucker for a good quote. It's in regards to an elbow he hit Dahntay Jones with late in the game: "He flopped. He knows he flopped. If he says he didn't flop, he's a liar."
Brash and cocky, kind of like Bill Murray in 'Kingpin.' My old Kobe.

im not a kobe fan, i cant say anything about the way he plays. hes a great scorer and hes the best player in the league rite now. i have to admit it. he is the best player in the league. he does whatever it takes to win, but he aint going to win the title. he wont win anymore rings. hes going to stay with 3 rings. maybe 4 if he is lucky. i dont like kobe but i respect wut he does in the game.
Amen, when he is done with his career , he will end up with a big asterisk beside his name, that he only won titles because of Shaq and when he ran Shaq out of L.A., he never won a title again, not even an MVP title because of his selfishness.

kobe will lead the lakers to the playoffs but they are gonna get eliminated in the first round. if not the second round. he wont be able to lead his team back into the finals. but he is the best in the league right now no doubt i have to admit. he can score but right hes not the greatest scorer. or hes not even up there yet. he will be but not yet. im not a kobe fan and im not a lakers, but kobe is the best in the league right now.
kobe's problem is it's all about highlights. unlike jordan, kobe got his rings early. he scored 60 only to win by 2. mike would do his thing in trying to become champions. there's no way mike would score 60 just because he could like kobe. no one on that team has gotten better over the last 3 games. i'm not dissing his talent, i challenge his heart.
kobe needs to really see what effects his scoring outburst are having on the team. mike demanded the other players did their jobs. the other lakers just look at him go. how can he be an mvp and his 60 points only got them a win by 2? they gave up 119 points. he wants to be better than mike or anyone else before him, but his approach is all wrong and he's not an mvp. noone on that team is better because of him. enough said.

I've been watching NBA for almost 30 years, and I think Kobe now is playing at Michael's best. Remember, there were times the fans and sport-show hosts disliked Michael just like they now dislike Kobe.
Kobe is indeed the best player in the league right now, no doubt about that. He is just a complete player. He deserve to win the MVP this year. Good luck KOBE!!!
