More Artest craziness. According to ESPN.com, the completely and totally unpredictable Kings forward is now threatening to retire: Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest told multiple teammates this week that he wants to retire at season's end to spend more time with his family, according to club sources. As the item notes, this is hardly the first time Ron Ron has talked about getting out of the game. Prior to The Brawl, Artest was perhaps a little too vocal about how easily he could leave the NBA behind. Who knows how serious he is here, but this can't be good for the floundering franchise he was supposed to save. Also, it will probably be hard for him to spend more time with his family if he's required to stay 100 yards away from them.
Reached via e-mail, Artest wouldn't confirm or deny making such declarations, telling ESPN.com: "We can talk about it after [the] playoffs."

Dude, WTH? I mean, he has a restraining order, so what's the use of retiring to spend time w/ family?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if he really did retire? Please Ron, for the sake of the NBA, retire, and take the rest of your thug buddies with you.

Artest has been reading the financial pages too much. Respectable, financially secure businessmen retire to spend more time with their families. Crude, rude, dumb thugs with restraining orders against them do not. The only family he'll spend more time with are his equally stupid "homies." Good riddance, Ron.

... There are individuals in life, sports for sure, and there can also be people who are slightly unbalanced, troubled, as perhaps this man is... I wonder how many coaches, owners, team mates have tried not to look at this guy as a moeny making basketball machine, and try to help him with a compassionate professional ?

He can retire and be with whoever!!!! Sacramento Kings won't win a championship with or without him in their lineup in 07 or 08.

people are always quick to pass judgement about people they dont even know. I myself dont know ron personally, but i do know that nobody is perfect. we all make mistakes.people need to be more concerned with their own lives instead of others.

Ron should
a)take his medication when he's suppose to
b) Shut the F--k up and sit his silly ass down
c) Should hold on to the NBA as long as is physically possible
it's doubtful he can hold on to a real job it's obvious; "the light is on but nobody's home"
