LeBron James' Latest Bid At World Domination: Bicycles

Text Size A A A
This LeBron guy, what won't he do for money eh? In his latest move to inch closer to that 'billionaire athlete' status, LBJ has decided the best way to reach that destination is to ride his way there (ha ha).
The NBA star has acquired minority ownership of Cannondale, a Connecticut-based manufacturer of high-performance bicycles that gave President Bush a customized $5,000 mountain bike last year.

[...]

"Cannondale is one of the premier cycling companies in the industry," James said Monday in a statement. "Biking is an extremely important part of my training routine, and I like to invest in what I know."

James' ownership stake in Cannondale was not disclosed. It is the latest venture for the 22-year-old and his business partners, who are also three of his closest friends.

Take that Lance Armstrong! And also, wow, talk about keeping his quotes simple, I hope his publicist didn't break a sweat coming up with that. Seriously, this might be his best acquisition yet, seeing as Warren Buffett might have possibly aided LeBron with the deal after watching him play (Brian Windhorst has some Buffett sightings here). If the second richest man in the world tells me to buy something, I'd definitely hear him out.
