There's a bit of a hubbub over last night's
Comeuppance? You decide.
(With my eyes, Gasol deserves a game in a suit. Rather unnecessary. And I'm pretty much the furthest thing you can get from a Kobe apologist.)

Comments (Page 1 of 1)
Kobe got one game suspensions for elbows that didn't look as bad as that.
Kobe got those suspensions so easily because he's thrown high elbows repeatedly during his career (at least 3 before this year, including clotheslining Mike Miller in the lane).
Pau should get a little more leeway since it didn't look too intentional and he's got a clean history in this area, but I'd understand a suspension.
Gasol will get fined for sure.
The criteria the league is using is was that a "natural basketball move?" It looked to me like Gasol was trying to keep Kobe from getting to the ball by using his arm, that hitting him in the face was not intentional, but that said it was not "natural."
It's EXACTLY what Kobe did and got suspended for not once, but twice. neither hit by Kobe was intentional either. If the league doesn't suspend Gasol, then Phil's comments about a witch hunt of Kobe will prove to be accurate.
Gasol hardly has Kobe's penchant for that type of foul. Wouldn't be surprised if Gasol got some sort of sanction because it was Kobe and all the attention his flagrants got but in reality, this time it should be a no call. Kobe would be wise to keep his mouth shut about this as well.
