In case the first game put you to sleep... We are the destroyers. New Jersey's Big Three may be back in full, but they're not enough to overcome the Cavs' Big One. With LeBron pulling out all the stops and reminding us why we should still look forward to him in the playoffs, Cleveland rolled to a 94-76 victory. The game wasn't even that close; James ran positively wild, ending up with a formidable 35 points in 34 minutes. Vince had 26 in defeat, and was pretty much the only thing going right for the pitifully overmatched Nets.
Death rattle of Los Angeles. The Clippers pulled off several big rallies and beat the Lakers in this Staples Center showdown 118-110, preserving their thin playoff hopes. Kobe went nuts and hit 50 even, and Smush Parker had one of them good nights, but other than that the Lakers were a crater. I know that this win means that the Clips might maybe move on to the next phase of play. But as far as bragging rights are concerned? It's like saying you whupped a bratty kid three grades below you. They don't have a game plan, and Odom's still not healthy. Oh yeah--congratulations on the win, Clippers. They were led by Maggette and Brand's 39 and 32, respectively, plus some key, key plays from the revived Sam Cassell.
