Tim Duncan spoke with League officials yesterday regarding the incident with referee Joey Crawford. Duncan says that he basically told the NBA the same thing that he told reporters following his controversial ejection on Sunday: he only complained about one call while sitting on the bench, and was given the second technical foul for laughing about a terrible call that Crawford made in the third quarter. Oh, and he also admitted to calling Joey Crawford a piece of (expletive) after the ejection.
"I called him that," Duncan said. "But I wanted to make sure (league officials) knew that wasn't why I was ejected."Lovin' it.
Joey Crawford met with David Stern in New York yesterday, and according to sources, the Commish tore him a new one. It remains to be seen if Crawford will be suspended.

The commish tore him a new one hu, boo hoo. Its like this is the first problem the NBA has had with its officials. There are extreme consiquences for a player who lashing out on an official, but what happens when the official goes out of control? Nothing obviously. There are no guidelines or protocols for this type of occurence. Sure they have the guidelines set up if players, coaches or owners say somthing truthful or heartfelt about the officials but where is the accountability for the officials? Are they above the law? I think its obvious.
So the NBA has strict guidelines (controling the dress code, speach, emotions and actions on the court) for players, coaches and owners. Where is the accountability for the David Sterns orginization and his officials. Stern is basically a dictator with ZERO accountability for his actions. Could we get a poll going for the approval rating of Commishioner David Stern and the job he is doing for the NBA? I think his numbers would be much lower then George W. Bush's approval ratings.
Stern gives his refs the green light to abuse their power with the stipulation to keep it suttle. Crawford was not suttle on Sunday but he is very loyal to David so im sure a slap on the wrist will do just fine.
