There was a story in the
Rocky Mountain News a few days ago discussing the various friendships between players on the Denver Nuggets and those playing for the San Antonio Spurs. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Manu Ginobili and J.R. Smith aren't the best friends. Why? Well, for one, J.R. is accusing Manu of
traveling each time he attacks the cup.
Manu Ginobili has been driving past Smith with what Smith terms his "Euro step."
"He takes an extra step every time he gets into the paint," Smith said. "It always works for him. They never call a walk. I might try it."
"It's not very much fun when you have to put J.R. on Ginobili," George Karl said. "You don't think Pop knows that? Every play he runs when Ginobili is in the game is against (Smith). J.R. gets tricked. We're going to spend some time with J.R."
J.R. Smith not only needs to put in extra work on his defense, but he might think about taking a geography course before he decides to diss another foreigner. Last time I checked, Argentina (Manu's homeland) isn't anywhere near Europe.

New Orleans Hornets fans might understand J.R.'s comment about Ginobili; we Hornet fans thought J.R. might be from Spain the way he played "ole" defense and let opponents rush right past him. Good luck, Mr. Karl, teaching Mr. Smith anything. He's a sweet kid who sadly thinks he only needs to shoot to star in the NBA.

I do think that manu is out of control when he attacks the basket. He drops his head, will jab player n his way with his elbows, probably does take an extra step, but what player doesnt get away with that 90% of the time, and if it doesnt look like the layup is going in he will throw HIMSELF to the floor in a dramatic fashion. I have personally always hated Manu ever sense he intentionally injured dirk nowitzki's knee in the playoff several years ago. It is my opinion but i think Manu is one of the dirtiest players in the NBA.

J.R. Smith is just mad that Manu Ginobili is outplaying him on the court. He needs to quit whining and play.

WOWWWW! It's amazing how someones hate Manu!!!! Let explain something. 1-Manu is Argentine, like Noccioni (Bulls), Delfino (Pistons), Oberto (Spurs), Hermann (Bobcats), They have been playing and won (MVP awards) in the Argentine, Spainard and Italian League, They won Gold Medal OG2004, They beat a really dream team, Duncan, Iverson, J O'neal, Jeferson, etc, etc, etc. They play Argentine Game Style. Argentina is in America, South America. ahh Manu won 2 NBA ring as well and Melo, is a dirty player.
