Playoff Revelations honors playoff players without big names, but who are having a big impact in the postseason.
The video above displays three things every NBA connoseiur should know about Mickael Pietris: he gets angry when he misses, he can jump really high, and... he loves money.
Pietrus' NBA career has been underwhelming to this point. He's almost the antistereotypical Euro: he's a hellcat defender, he lacks no confidence in his game, and he's kind of... hard. Those things they say about Dirk and they said about Peja? They don't apply to Pietrus. But still, his career hasn't looked too different from that of John Salmons. He was completely mishandled for two years under Mike Montgomery. But like all who play for Don Nelson, Pietrus blossomed this season, hitting for an effective field goal percent of 56.7% and raking in more boards per opportunity than nearly every other swing in the league.
Last night was his bigtime coming out party. The repeated jumpers despite some bad misses? Check. The ability to fly? Check. The thirst for cash?
So when a Warriors insider complimented him on his blocked shot in Game 3, the insider was surprised by his answer. You've got to appreciate his honesty. (And his hops. Mon dieu!)
"I need a contract," he said.
