For the second time this series, Stephen Jackson got an early start on his postgame shower. And again, the culprit was ... clapping. I'd attempt to find some YouTube video of it, but really, it's not that interesting. The official was standing down near the block, Jackson walked past him clapping, continued walking and continued clapping ... and at the time he got T'd up, he was looking and clapping in the opposite direction of the official.
Opinion was divided on TNT's Inside the NBA set, and it probably will be here, too ... but I'm siding with Charles Barkley, this tech was not warranted. And I'll grant you that Jackson probably shouldn't have been clapping, after having seen Baron Davis get tossed for it earlier. But the fact that Jack should have known better doesn't excuse the ref, either ... when Baron was given his clap-tech, he was doing it right in an official's face, and he was looking dead at him. His intent was clear.
With Jackson, it was different ... for all I know, he was just walking to his position on the floor, and as Barkley theorized, messing with the fans a little bit. Unless you're assuming the worst about Stephen Jackson, it doesn't look like he's antagonizing any officials.
This time, he left relatively quietly ... he clearly wanted to say something, but he didn't. The Warriors' Stephen Jackson Ejection Squad (a group of people hired by the organization whose sole mission is to escort Jackson off the court promptly and peacefully every time he's ejected ... okay, this doesn't really exist, but it should) sprung into action quickly and got him to the showers without further incident.

Man, if they suspend S-Jax for game 6 for clapping but let Jason "BodySlam" Terry play, then the NBA can go to hell.

This is nothing, compared to Jason Richardson lunging after a Mavs fan. I don't know what the fan was saying, but Richardson went after him in the second row with about 21 seconds left in the game. How long with THAT suspension be????? Last year, Benga went into the stands to escort Avery's wife out when Suns fans were giving her a hard time in Phoenix, and Benga picked up a multi-game suspension for that.

I don't think the tech was warranted. In fact, I lightweight thought the clapping tech on BD was too much.

Jason Terry didn't even get a flagrant foul for throwing a player to the floor. look for him to be fined even though he deserves to be suspended. What would happen to Jackson if he did that? The NBA wants Dallas to win but needs a better reason to get Jackson out of the series

Or stephen jackson can take his suspension like a man, and learn not to sarcastically make fun of the ref while pretending to look innocent. Davis already got thrown for intentionally making fun of the ref, jackson knows this cause he was there yet he was stupid enough to try it, and thats what he gets for being a dumb ass.

I can't believe Jackson is even playing. He is an idiot/criminal who would be in jail if it weren't for people naive enough to pay money to watch thugs like him throw a ball in a hoop. I hope he is suspended after 2 ejections in 5 games. He probably would have attacked the refs had this game been out on the street. He likes to shoot guns too, if you remember. His antics frankly ruin the game for many of us fans.

Jackson is a punk, he doesnt even deserve to even be in the league! Professional athletes get away with way too much on and off the court/field!
Then again if it had been Timmy Duncan doing the clapping, a league favorite; the ref would be suspended; not the player!
Way too many double standards in this world! One things for sure the leaguea need to start taking action - they are teaching youth that the thug persona is acceptable!
Conduct yourself like on and you will be rewarded with more money than you know what to do with - you can commit crimes and get lenient punishiments just because you are making the cities lots of money - its a joke!

Stephen Jackson won a ring with San Antonio and was a valued team player. Put him in the right situation and he's fine.

Great point by Mondo about Duncan.
Could it be that the refs were making it up to Cuban after he cried to the world about being robbed in the Finals last year?

The refs aren't out to see Dallas win. That's not how the game works. No one's being paid off. They missed the call on Terry, so what? How many other calls have been missed in the past?
Jackson did it intentionally and should have known better since it happened last time they played in Dallas. It doesn't take a genius to know the refs won't stand for that kind of behavior.

Refs need anger-management classes.
Terri deserved & got a T, big deal .. good call, move on. Jackson should have been left alone, ref needs disciplining.

This whole fascist regime known as NBA refs is really starting to creep me out. Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson were clapping sarcastically. So what? They weren't hurting anyone. I'm sarcastic at work all the time and I don't get sent home. The refs should be there to maintain order in a game, not play mommy and daddy. The refs have WAY to much power in the NBA. They can do whatever they want for absolutely no reason and the players just have to take it and if they say something, they get fined. It's ridiculous. I get that David Stern is trying to clean up the league, but it's gone to far. Letting the refs have absolute power led to the Joey Crawford incident. Jason Terry could have hurt Baron Davis, which is way more serious than hurting a refs feelings and he didn't get tossed. The refs have to at least be consistent and stop dictating the turnout of games. If Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson hadn't been tossed in Game 2 and 5 (minus BD in Game 5, I know he fouled out) the Mavs would be done. The refs need to realize that they aren't the ones in the spotlight.

I said it prior to the game that it's not over till its over and the Mavs vindicated me. Come Thursday, GS and their fans need to be silenced and this is possible as long as the Mavs continue to believe in themselves. The best team with teir accomplishments cannot go down like that. Go Mavs.

HAHAHA the best you can come up with to make the mavs look like thugs is Jason Terrys suposid body slam. Davis is the one who initiated the contact, sneaking up behind terry and bumping into him. Then as if Terry really used that much force all he did was spin around, they both equally locked each other up then davis dives to the floor and he did not hit his head watch the tape, but he acted like he hit his head. It was just as fake as all you bangwagon GS fans. Wow you GS have players like Jackson who curses at the refs and fans continuously, but thats ok because you hate the mavs and there great season oh so jealous. Now that dallas is the underdog, lets see if GS can finish.
