Man, I bet that first half felt good for Bulls fans ... the Bulls were getting to the rim, they controlled the boards, the Pistons got no easy buckets, nothing in the paint, the fans were going nuts ... I bet you were all thinking to yourselves, "See, we are just as good as them! We can compete! Heck, WE CAN WIN!"
And then the second half happened. And no, I'm sorry, you can't win.
The sole important factor in this series appears to be the level of Pistons aggression. It's not a case of the most aggressive team being able to win ... it's if the Pistons decide to be the aggressors, the Pistons will win. Chicago came out with the belly-fire to start the game, with Kirk Hinrich in particular being excellent. Ben Wallace was active, PJ Brown was all over the place, the painted area was something owned by Chicago.
The second half, however, was something owned by the Detroit Pistons. It was the complete opposite of the first, and the amazing thing about it is that the Pistons never at all even seemed troubled by the 19-point deficit. The attitude was like, "Hey, you guys look at the scoreboard recently? No? Well, we're down 19. Yeah, I know, I'm surprised, too. You want to do that thing we do where we just make these guys look like helpless children? Cool, let's just do that. Alright, helpless children on three. One, two, three, HELPLESS CHILDREN!"
And that was that.
The Pistons started getting to the rim, the jumpers opened up, and the defense put Chicago on lockdown. Chauncey Billups took over, and Tayshaun Prince and Rasheed Wallace were excellent, too. If there are five players in the league better defensively than a motivated Rasheed Wallace, I don't know who they are.
I hate to be overly antagonistic to the Bulls, but ... only 2 of the 12 quarters played thus far in this series did not look like amateuers vs. professionals. Game 4 is Sunday. Bring brooms.

I'm pretty sure that Chicago could lose 82 straight games, and I could never tire of watching Skiles get angry.
Rather than suffer the end of a sweep in front of the hometown fans... look for Skiles to have his team play Ugly in game 4.
After the Bulls beat up on the sorry ass Heat,I said right away. These guts think they have a chance against the Pistons?NO way.The tough as steel Pistons are going to sweep them, see the heats team is ever so old and the all-stars they have there have all lost a step or two or three. With wade returning it might have been the worst thing that could of happened for the Heat.No way was he 100% and look back at the way the Heat were playing without him.Hummmm, they were winning.I am not saying it was Dwaynes fault that the Heat lost.I am a Heat fan living down here in Florida.Just so happens that I was born in New York and learned the NBA game watching the Knicks(Reed,Bradley,Frazier,Monroe,Lucas Phil Jackson, ect ect )Also happens that I moved to sunny florida and had to leave the SilverDoom(as I called it) behind.I lived 15 minutes away and it was my second home. The Pistons have always played good or great DEFENSE.The Bulls are on there way to getting swept just like I said they would and if you can go back I posted here to that effect. The Pistons are on a mission and are all sorts of Po'ed about not winning it all last year. They did have the best team again. So to the Bulls welcome to the Playoffs and your not as good as you thought you were and your not as bad as the Pistons are making you look or are you???
After the Bulls sweept the Heat and were going on like they were all that I said the Pistons are going to sweep them and it will not be pretty. So far it is going as planed. The two butt beatings in the Superdoom (as I call it)and the 19 point come from behind smack down the defense put on the Bulls.I moved here to Florida from Detroit.I lived 15 minutes from the house of doom and was there more then being home eating diner..The Bulls are not as good as they thought they were beating the tired old Heat.I truely beleive that they might of done better if Dwayne did not play.I am not faulting Wade he is a great talent But he was NOT any where near 100% or even 75% but the slackers thought that like last year they could just climb on his back and poof the crown would be back on their heads. At least last year the Heat had the determination and also knew that it was last chance for some of the players to win a NBA ring and they played like it. The Heat were playing decent ball while Mr.Wade was sitting out. They had some kind of sick chemistry mojo going for them as they blew just about everybodys mind in winning their division. The Bulls match up far better then the OLD heat players who had lost a step or two or three...Well just one more game and the mighty defensive Pistons will be moving on up.The Bulls are not as good as they thought nor are they as bad as the Pistons are making them look, hummmm or are they?
