Do a Google search for the word "dirty" and the first eight results will be porn. But the ninth result will be the homepage of the San Antonio Spurs. We all know Amare Stoudemire called the Spurs dirty after he got kicked by the infamous Bruce Bowen in Game 2 of the current series (and kneed in the Lucky Charms by Manu Ginobili earlier in the year). San Antonio claims Amare was just being a complainer ... kudos to the fan at the AT&T Center with the "Amare Stoude-whiner" sign. But did you actually watch Game 3? From Bowen's knee in Nash's crotch to Big Shot Horry's drag-down of Amare, the Spurs were playing straight dirty. Read Brett Edward's liveblog of the game -- that guy is not a Suns fan and he still saw it.
Ok, so maybe my opinion is colored by the fact that I'm a Phoenix fan. And yes, there was a lot of contact for both teams. But don't come crying to me about Shawn Marion's inadvertent poke of Manu Ginobili's eye. My goodness, that guy bruises up like a 10-day-old banana -- even his undereyes are overly dramatic.

Amen sister!
The Spurs tried to injure our star, our cheif in command, our MV3 Nash. I believe it was to take him out of this series, or the least keep his game off when he was coming back.
Dirty Bowen at is tricks and his knee where it doesn't belong (is he gay?) as well as Ginugly tripping Nash as he was running.
Real nice team, huh?
Where were the refs? Taking a pee break?
Stop crying!!!!!
The San Antonio Spurs ARE Winning This Series!
Nash is a good ole Canadian Boy with his Hockey Toughness, the messed up nose hardly phased him.
Suns will kick it in gear in Game 4. But
until the refs work with Steve instead of aginast him and Thomas gets back to muscling on Duncan, Suns might be in trouble.
ZZ
That was pretty neat the way the "10-day old banana" torched your defense last night!!!
The fact that you are a Suns fan removes all crediblity for this blog. In fact, look at some of the responses here. The only ones more immature than the whining Suns are their fans. I guess that happens when you come up short of a ring every season of your entire pathetic existance.
I'm watching this series without caring AT ALL who wins and I'd say theres been nothing particularly "dirty". I always knew San Antonio complained about a lot of calls, but I have not seen one call in this series where Phoenix was not all over the refs. The thing that makes this a joke is that even when it is an obvious foul, they still are yelling at them.
SPURS UNLIKE THE DALLAS MAVS ARE JUST A BUNCH OF CLASSY GUYS PLAYING WHATEVER TEMPO THEY NEED TO WIN GAMES. SUNS FANS, TELL YOUR BOY AMARE STOUDAWHINER THANKS FOR THE BULLETIN BOARD MATERIAL. HE IS GREAT BUT ALSO YOUNG AND STUPID. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND ENJOY YOUR VACA IN A WEEK. SPURS IN 6.
Suns want to dish it out but can't take it. With a guy like Bell on your team I find it hilarious that you have the balls to complain about other players being dirty.....
That'll do pig(s), that'll do.
First let me say that this is by far my favorite Gossip creation, that drawing is awesome! Second, it's no secret that I hate the Spurs, but even Spurs fans have to admit that the knee to the crotch by Bowen was intentional. Spurs' fans may be ok with it, just like Pistons' fans were ok with the way their Bad Boys teams of the late 80s played. But there's no denying that Bowen plays rough (read: DIRTY) on purpose.
How do the Suns or any of their fans actually complains about the Spurs being dirty and then root for Raja Bell? At least their fouls are in the context of the game, Raja just straight clotheslined Kobe, a forearm to the neck is about as dirty as it gets
Can someone refresh my memory here.I keep hearing about Bowen kneeing Nash in the groin, but it didn't look like Steve was holding his privates, but more his left leg? At least that's how I saw it. And do any of you recall the commentators stating how it is normal in the game for a player to step forward to clear some space for himself. And wasn't Bowen playing offense at the time? Wasn't Nash (whom I like very much)defending him. If the camera followed just about any player closely for an entire game, we would see that all of them take whatever advantage they can get away with (kurt thomas...)

A few thoughts here from craigp. One of the few sincere real chatters on these sports message boards.
I used the word dirty a while back to describe TIm Duncan. When I say dirty I mean "play outside the rules" "abuse the rules" "try to dishonorably gain an advantage" and I still stand by that assessment of Duncan Horry and Bowen, and to a lesser extent Ginnobli though he is not as bad asx the other three in my view. Parker is the cleanest player of all and I have more respect for him than I do any SPur, and I have become a fan of him recently.
Now others use the word dirty it seems to me to imply "trying to hurt and injure someone"
Let me say clearly, I do NOT believe Duncan tries to hurt or injure anyone.
HOrry and Bowen, its a bit different. I dont think they intentionally look to hurt or injure someone , but I think they are just so careless and disrespectful and oblvious to what they do, that they are dangerous and are inevitbaly going to injure people. Horry not as bad as Bowen, but he needs to "clean it up" too in my view.
As far as the game, I thought the refs again slightly favored the Spurs, It wasnt massive but it had some impact on the game. I thought Nash was there in plently of time on the play whree he stepped in front of Duncan and the foul was called on Nash. BUt the officiating was DECENT. I have defenitiely seen worse. I do belive that FUncan clears people out with his off hand all the time and the refs need to crack down on that. He creates so much contact with his offense, and the denfeder should no be called for violations that DUncan inititaes. Its getting better, but it still needs some improvement. I think Raja Bell needs to more aggresively look for his offense, He was hot and then he stopped shooting. I think Raja Bell's offense is a key to this series. I think also there wree about three or four plays whree Nash got hammered and slapped driving into the lane and there was no call. but again it happens, overall the officiating was decent I would say buit slightly favoring the SPurs
The Phoenix Sunflowers need to stop crying and man up.The constant complaining will only irritate the officials and make Timmy mad. And like you have witnesssed, you dont want Timmy mad.Spurs in 5. Sunflowers will never win an nba title.
The person who doesnt understand lines of credit and such is talking about Bball
This is directed to craigp:
First of all, don't you have spell check?
You go to great length to describe dirty players yet NO PLAYER ON THE PHOENIX SUNS TEAM IS MENTIONED. I am sure it was just an oversight.

Somehow the logic behind the comments are "fans of a particular team cannot write a blog without losing credibility." Interesting. I guess we will have to give up all our believes to start to express our believes?
The knee was on Nash's leg. Come on even Nash said he knew Bruce didn't hit him in the family jewels. His quote is in the paper. He said they just didn't play good. that is why they lost. At least nash has class and sees things in reality for what they really are. Nice little cartoon. That is cute. Why don't you show a cartoon of nash missing his first nine shots? Or the Spurs controlling the boards. When will a phoenix Sun blog be anything other than about the officiating? If the Suns were to get by this series and into the finals I would hate to see them play a team from the east where they play real physical basketball. Detroit fans must be laughing about how the Spurs are called dirty. This is tough basketball and the pistons are known to be much more physical than even them mean ole Spurs. GROW UP PHOENIX FANS. I challenge anyone to write something other than the refs. What about Nash missing nine shots? What about the poke to Ginobili? Of course when Raja clothes lines Kobe, it is just hard basketball right? And the poke in the eye is just an accident. The difference between the two teams is when thew Spurs get roughed up they respond with 8 staright points (thank you Manu!) I challenge any Suns fan to reply to why they didn't get Raja the ball in the second half after he hit 4 3's in the first half. I challenge a Suns fan to look at the rebounding in the series. The Spurs outrebounded the Suns all three games and won two of them. Also, game 3 was the first where the Spurs went to the line more than Phoenix. What about that Suns Fans? Talk basketball instead of whining about the officials. I will be hear to respond to your silly posts because you have nothing else than to whine and complain about the officials when you lose. BOO HOO. Pity the poor Suns. Everyone is out to get them. The NBA, the officials and them mean ole Spurs. WAHHHH. Get your baby rattles out again and stick them in your mouths you whiney victim loser fans. This blogger spent al this time making a little cartoon about the Spurs because that is all they have left. They aren't going to win the series so all they have to hang on to is a myth that they were cheated out of a win. What a loser mentality. And that is all you have. Complaining. Whining, and no basketball talk. I have never heard a team's fans complain so much about the officials. At least Denver went down like men. The Nuggets are a much more respectable team and has much classier fans than the Suns. The Suns have the most whiney, complaining fans in all the the NBA hands down. That is why the HAVE NEVER WON AN NBA TITLE. KARMA. KEEP WHINING. KARMA IS COMING BACK ON YOU SUNS FAN, AND THE SPURS ARE LOVING IT.
