Crystal Ballin' takes a team-by-team look at what should, could, and probably will happen in the June 28th NBA Draft.
Needs: The Suns need to strengthen their bench so they can play more than seven people on a nightly basis. Oh, and it would be nice to get some players that are familiar with that "leaving the bench rule."
Best Case Scenario: Phoenix is taking a serious look at trying to move up in this year's draft. Need some proof? Check out the fact that they are working out Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer, and Jeff Green today, all of whom are slated to go in the top 10. The best of the group for the Suns might be Noah, but they'd probably have to get Milwaukee's pick at 6 to guarantee themselves a shot at him.
More Likely Scenario: It's looking more and more like the Suns will somehow improve their position in the draft. In case they don't, here's what they're looking at with their 24th and 29th picks: international players. Phoenix doesn't see any immediate help for their team this deep in the draft, so they'll focus on players like Tiago Splitter and Petteri Koponen who can develop their game out of the country and off of their roster.
Please Don't Take: A higher draft pick in exchange for Shawn Marion. I know Marion wants a bigger role on another team, and that the Suns have salary cap issues. But Shawn Marion is an All-Star, and plays so well in the Suns' system that I'd hate to see him moved for a lottery pick.
Second-Round Possibilities: With the 59th overall pick, really, what's left?

Trading Marion for KG is one thing, but trading Marion for a high draft pick doesn't make much sense. How do they get better with a rookie? I like that the Suns are trying to capitalize on draft day, but giving up an All-Star to do it is not the way to go.

Marion for kevin garnett? haha no way! suns better throw in leandro barbosa in that deal. cuz minnesota doesnt want marion, they want amare.if the suns really want KG or they really dont want KG to go to the lakers, its gonna take Amare to get him. IF im minnesota, only way KG goes is for Amare. or MARION, the 24th and 29th picks this year, AND ATLANTA's unprotected pick next year.

Sarver has proven again that "Eye on the Prize" is a joke. The Suns motto under Sarver is "Show me the Cash". If he was so concerned about saving money, why did he give Diaw 9 mil a year? The French Pastry is a load that will keep Phoenix broke for years, for nothing.

P.S. If Sarver could sell Marion, he would, but he has to trade him.
