Italy and Turkey had a highly important meet-and-greet Monday at Eurobasket, and this assault by Warriors guard Marco Belinelli over Magician Hedo Turkoglu (as found by the peaceably vicious hombres at The Painted Area) went a good way to determine the outcome.
I'd say more, but I promised Brother Hidayet I'd help him mop up what's left of his dignity. (Also, in case you're wondering: I stopped writing about Eurobasket here precisely because The Painted Area is literally the only thing you need to read to be kept up to speed and fully informed on the matter.)

As a Magic fan, seeing Turkoglu getting dunked on isn't anything new. Olé!

Painted Area's analysis off all basketball foreign this summer really has been absurdly good.

I love how the commentators even said, "In your face," haha. I'd say "Poor Hedo," but he and Memo are pampered in that team. According to the commentary in the game vs. Germany a few days ago, Hedo and Memo ride limos behind the team bus. That's unity right there.

Well that was nice but it must be said that Turkoglu was clearly the best player of the game, scoring 30 plus, italians couldn't guard him at all. Beli didn't do anything all game but then somehow managed to show up during the stretch to help his team win. The italian national team has got talent, more than ever probably, but plays a poor game of just shooting 3 pointers, looks like the poor man's us team.
