Yes.Following an offseason from hell, the New York Knicks not only look like a real basketball team, but one that could make its Playoff dreams come true. I know, I know, we're only three games into the season, but hear me out on this.
Last night, in a rematch against the swingin' Nuggets (and one of the better teams in the Western Conference), New York put together a performance that should give Knicks fans reason to open the sports section in the morning other than to read about Isiah's latest gaffe.
Rallying from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit, the team carried itself with unmistakable swag; the guards scored and dished at will; the forwards banged down low and dominated the boards; and Nate Robinson didn't do anything cataclysmically stupid. A good night all around.
At least for one night, the Knicks' big weapons (Marbury, Randolph, Crawford, and Curry) were perfectly in sync (each guy had over 20 points) and they managed to do it using just one basketball.
What last night proved was that the Knicks have enough talent and depth to hang with any team in this League; it also became obvious that this team will not let distractions affect their play on the court.
Just wait 'till they start playing some defense.

Are you nuts?
1) Denver plays no defense. Never have, never will.
2) The Knicks have always had games like these- they then usually proceed to drop 8 of the next 11. One good game and you post a blog that they *might* be a good team?
How about posting something that requires thought? Or is that too much trouble?

If the author is referring to winning the NBA championship as the “dreams” the Knicks may achieve, it may sound like a bit of a stretch. But, I too believe that Denver game is indicative of the Knicks morphing potential. Isiah Thomas’s coaching was certainly demonstrated there. I was almost poetic. I saw a rejuvenated Knicks squad that mobilized that key players, who make key plays at key moments. I most definitely believe the Knicks can make serious moves. True, Alex, in the past seasons the Knicks have been more than mediocre (specifically during the post-Ewing era). But, with Brooklyn born Starbury as the floor general, Isiah Thomas’s coaching/influence and that NY tenacity, Im sure the Knicks have the pieces and the opportunity to show, NY has more than lights and people. It will be fun to watch and we shall see…

As much as it would pain me, would it really be surprising if the Knicks put it together and made the playoffs? With the exception of a few elite NBA teams and a dog or two, most squads have enough talent to fall squarely in the vast middle...the question is, are the right systems/coaches/mindset in place to utilize said talent.
