That Knicks fan protest we told you about earlier went off. As with protests, there seemed to be as many media members in attendance as wronged parties. Of course, in this special case, most of those media members could probably qualify as wronged parties, too. Rich Shapiro of the New York Daily News says the oversized pink slip petition got 60 signatures in 15 minutes, which is like four signatures a minute, which is impressive given the typical shortage of Sharpies I've found at these events. So many cheers to the bold and vigorous peoples of New York.Of course, this won't likely matter except to keep the disastrous state of the Knicks in headlines. James Dolan probably sees the coverage and thinks, "Wow, we have built something special. These folks are so passionate about our team!" And Isiah Thomas surely doesn't give a $@%& about these... people.
Meanwhile, Knicks fans: Cheer up. Think back to brighter times, when you got possibly jobbed out of a title by P.J. Brown.

Not a fan of Thomas but followed his career as a player and he does know the game...however, knowing the game doesn't translate into having the ability to "coach"...that the Knicks have gone thru literally some of the best in the business should alert someone that something is amiss with these not so cute prima donnas who believe all they have to do is show up, show boat, and in general behave unprofessionally....This time it's the players..all of the coaches can't be wrong...anyone note that the Knicks actually win games and look better when "Starbury" is off the court? Looks to me as though they need a team leader, someone who can motivate them and call 'em on erratic play..they don't even pretend to know the basics..No, it's not Isiah!

#1,yes it is Isiah! Sorry, but when the team lacks discipline on and OFF the court and the coach is the main culprit, a change is needed. He may have been a great player, but he can't coach worth sh*t! The players feed off the coach and when they see the coach act unprofessional on and off the court, especially with todays players, chaos results. A pretty smile will only go so far. Besides, if Isiah were white, he'd have been fired by now for both his on-court and off-court actions.

I did say Thomas' career as a player didn't make him a 'coach'...Your point[s] well taken...I can point to some horrid coaches(on and off the field) in both the NFL,NBA,NHL and the NBL who were spared what Thomas is apparently going thru simply because team leaders emerged from among the players to handle the business of ball playing...Okay Thomas should go but it's not all his fault...Perhaps the players should take a stand and do as he says do on the court and not emulate his actions off the court...I hold my ground on the necessity for a strong team leader on the floor. At the moment there is none qualified on the team to propel them forward...Sure motivation comes from a good coach but how many times have you seen the great teams rely on their "own" to get them where they need to go? Watch Steve Nash...watch Ginobli, watch the quiet articulation of a Ray Allen who inspires his teammates...All I am saying is what I am saying...the Knicks need a team Leader! But yeah, I agree with you mostly.
