I would have figured that LeBron James has at least a working understanding of how the NBA's salary cap rules are structured in regards to trades, but the more he campaigns for Jason Kidd, the more I have to wonder. Yesterday, the Cavs were in Portland when Kidd's name came up, which sparked the following response:
"I would love to have a guy like Jason Kidd to be a part of this franchise, I think it makes us that much better of a team. Everyone knows how much I love Jason Kidd just throughout the summertime. It's not hard to see how much I'd love to have him as part of the team. Honestly, when you see Jason Kidd wants to be traded, you shouldn't have to go to the front office and tell them to get on it. It's Jason Kidd."Since he's so vocal about adding Kidd to the roster, I wish he'd propose a way to get it done, because the fact that Kidd is making $19.7 million this year makes it impossible for the Cavs to get involved without sending back not one or two but several of his current teammates, including most likely a couple of starters. And even if the Cavs found enough guys to make the numbers work, the talent is just not there for New Jersey to bite, especially considering they can just hold onto Kidd until the summer and get more teams involved in the bidding.

The problem is the Cavs do not have enough to give New Jersey. I would love to have Kidd. He could be the missing link for the short term, bu I do not think they want the high paid mediocre players we would give them.

They have nothing to offer. Their center is a big stiff, Gooden is a stiff.
