There's nothing more ridiculous (- ly funny) and time honored than fans putting brown paper sacks on their heads and heading into their teams arena, sitting down and watching their team play as a show of total shame for said team's inability to prosper. Now, via Brew Hoop, comes the Milwaukee Bucks fans who are sick and tired of the way that their franchise is being run.UPDATE: After the jump, courtesy of Kurt Leitinger, first hand photos. That's right, folks. FanHouse semi-exclusive!
This explains why they not only planned out a strategic brown-bagging of last night's game -- naturally a 22 point loss to the Celtics -- but actually went through the protest to the point that they snuck into the lower level with the game in hand, pulled the paper bags over their heads and "confronted" Bucks owner Herb Kohl.
In sum, the bag revolutionaries totaled 39, certainly far fewer than what some previous fan demonstrations have mustered, but not surprising given it was organized over a closed message board ... Shortly before tipoff and during halftime they paraded through the concourses to maximize exposure, led by Nowak's brilliantly subversive 'Where Amazing Happens' sign, and after the game they stationed themselves by the escalators. They were seated in a block of 30 in the upper deck, so not surprisingly the television cameras managed to avoid them, though the group did make it onto the jumbotron briefly during a prize giveaway, forcing an abrupt cut to a different camera. You have, naturally, by now seen the shot of Kohl staring at the fans in disbelief. So instead, we bring you the shot of the fans holding a sign "Where Amazing Happens", courtesy of Real GM member crkone. Note the hysterical Ruben Patterson jersey on the right side of the photo.
Do Bucks fans have the right to this protest? Well, of course they do. But is the team worthy of being brown bagged? Absolutely. It's gotten so heinous in Milwaukee that Bill Simmons is actively campaigning for General Manager when clear lame duck Larry Harris is predictably released. Bucks fans have suffered long enough under the weight of Dan Gadzuric contracts while watching the team flounder in an increasingly easy-to-win Eastern Conference; there's no need for the team to be this bad.

Not one mention of the protest on the Bucks broadcast, either. In this day of new media, I'm surprised the RealGM group doesn't have a website yet...or have I missed it?
