Much was made last season of Tracy McGrady's willingness to put the team's success or failure in the playoffs all on his shoulders. Well, we saw how that turned out: the Rockets were taken out by the Utah Jazz in seven games. This season, T-Mac has been a little more light hearted in discussing his frustration with never making it out of the first round, and after two home losses to the Jazz, he's willing to accept the blame ... for everything that's ever happened.
"It's my fault," McGrady said. "It's my fault we missed free throws. It's my fault we lost both games. Blame me. It's my fault we fouled to tie the game up. That's my fault. It's my fault they get easy layups. It's my fault we're not executing well on the offensive end. It's my fault a couple people in the stands ordered Heinekens and they got Budweiser. It's my fault. I'm sorry."
T-Mac even went on to say the Suns are blaming him for being down 0-2 to the Spurs, so obviously he's getting a little tired of being blamed for his team's post-season failures. While I did enjoy the mocking that took place at the expense of the Rockets during their overrated 22-game winning streak, I have to agree with McGrady here that he isn't the one to blame -- at all -- for his team's struggles this season.
The Rockets were missing Yao and Rafer Alston for the first two games of the series, and I defy you to show me any playoff team that would be beating a top four team in the West with 40% of their starting lineup on the bench. It's not happening. And once you see that McGrady's career playoff numbers are substantially better than the ones he's put up in the regular season, I think you'll agree that, just like McGrady's little rant there, it's a complete joke to blame him for the Rockets' playoff woes.

The game was won by Houston in a close one;
Rafer Alston, Landry and Scola did the real damage, not T-Mac;
