Bron - DeShawn Feud Simmers Strongly, Cavs One Win Shy of Beating the Wiz

Say what you want about all the silly posturing between Jay-Z LeBron James and Soulja Boy DeShawn Stevenson, and how it might be a little over the top and excessive. But it's making for one hell of a physically-styled basketball rivalry. Sunday was no exception, with Delonte West burying a monster shot only to have Gilbert Arenas not answer the call at the buzzer.

So, micro-fashioned, the biggest story might be the role players on the Cavs stepping up while the [injured, I suppose] stars on the Cavs step down. But in terms of the macro, it's the near violent nature with which these teams are attacking each other.

Need proof? Check the montage.

That last unnecessarily flagrant-deuce happened today at about the 2:35 mark as LeBron cut to the basket, only to have DeShawn put a mitt in his grille. Of course, Stevenson could just be upset that HOVA took time out of his sked to drop a freestyle rap track calling him out for being on a lower level than James.

In case you haven't hear it yet, check the audio, right here, NSFW (clearly).

Stevenson got the flagrant call, Bron went one for two from the line and then promptly dagger-balled a three pointer. The physical basketball, and clear-cut number one Eastern Conference rivalry, at least in spirit, probably won't be going anywhere.

But someone needs to talk to DeShawn and the Verizon Wireless crowd about use of the word "overrated". It applies a lot more appropriately if you win the playoff series.
