Everyone in Lakerland says Andrew Bynum will not likely suit up this postseason, or at least not anytime soon. You'll be glad to hear he has not been quarantined to a hyperbaric chamber or anything, though. A Santa Rosa (Calif.) Press Democrat blogger (via Bruins Nation) reports Bynum was in good spirits at a recent UCLA frat party, where Drew danced and high-fived Lakers fans. Bynum walked out of the hall, down a flight of stairs, and into the center of the dance floor, where he danced with the two girls. I don't know what this means about the state of his knee, or if he'll be able to play for the Lakers this post-season. But I do know that he can walk down stairs and dance to fast paced hip hop.So if he can't post up Carlos Boozer/Luis Scola, at least he could get in a routine with the Laker girls? Yeah? The link above has a few completely mild photos of Drew being tall and sweating a little bit in a packed hall. Apologies (not really) to those expecting some Leinart action.
Oh, and hey Bissinger! The above report, a hard-hitting story about a 20-year-old basketball player at a frat party which included photos? It was published on the website of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, a newspaper owned by the New York Times, which is a newspaper you contributed to just this month. The whole world's a piece of (expletive), yeah?

Bynum is not needed with the current roster;
Bynum will not mesh with such a roster with rhythm and chemistry ;
Maybe next year, "IF" coming from the bench.

Not needed? Are you crazy? Any player that is 7 ft. can shoot,defend, and block shots is always needed. Hopefully he will see limited action. And as for next year, I suspect he will start some games come off the bench in others. Plus in tight games where his defense is needed, he'll probably play more minutes.

Andrew Bynum is definetely needed. He is the next center in the history of dominant Laker big men. Mikan, Chamberlain, Kareem, Shaq and now Bynum. Pau Gasol is our power forward of the future. He is more comfortable at the elbow instead of having his back to the basket.
With the triangle offense Kobe can make the entry pass to Pau to draw the double team which will lead to "Bynum-a-loop" dunks. Lamar Odom will be more comfortable at the small forward position and this will only help our defense and rebounding with all that length in the frontcourt.
It will get to the point where instead of the Lakers standing back and watching Kobe, Kobe will be able to relax and watch his teammates.
Man, I can't wait!
