Joe Dumars announced the dismissal of Flip Saunders with a statement released this morning, and he hinted at how drastic the rest of his offseason moves may be during a press conference in the afternoon: "Make no mistake, everybody is in play right now," said Joe Dumars, the Pistons' president of basketball operations. "There are no sacred cows here. You lose that sacred cow status when you lose three straight years."It's not often you see a GM put his entire team on the block, but Dumars obviously wants to get the word out -- both to his players and other GM's -- that he'll do anything to improve his team. My personal feeling is that Rasheed Wallace will be the only starter who's traded, but if Dumars has a chance to bring back a superstar (Rasheed and Rip Hamilton for Tracy McGrady?), he just may bite.
It's a different situation from last year when Dumars was hesitant to disrupt his core and allegedly passed on deals for Shawn Marion or Amare Stoudemire that would have required giving up two starters. But with guys like Rodney Stuckey, Jason Maxiell and Amir Johnson waiting in the wings, the Pistons are better prepared to plug holes in their starting lineup if the right two-for-one deal materializes.

Good move for Joe. Flip couldn't do it in Minn. Trade Wallace.

Rip Hamilton @ Sheed for T-Mac? Do you trade 21-5-5 for anything over 30?

Joe Dumars has the young players to replace the veteran Pistons players to get Tracy McCrady or any superstar player to fit into the Piston system.

Rip Hamilton for Tracy McGrady?? Why don't the Pistons just save their fans the trouble and shut down the operation right now. Tracy has been a failure for every team he's played for. If their not satisfied with the conference finals, that's one thing, but actively seeking players who prefer to become irrelevant come April is the most asinine thing you can do to get your team back to the finals.

Tracy has never been a failure, a team consists of five players on the court. Detroit messed up when Ben Wallace left, too much finger pointing going on. Tracy McGrady has what it takes right now to go further than he ever has, surrounded by a lot of talent. Add that one missing piece to the puzzle for the Rockets and you have a championship contender. I hope that trade will never happen. Houston would benefit from this kind of trade, but Tracy would not. So I am hoping that Houston is smart enough to keep T-Mac around.

Instead of having to trade 2 players for 1 the Pistons could very easly draft 6-10 multi-talented SF Keith Brumbaugh in the second round often compared to Lebron James/Carmelo Anthony
