Pau's Meekness = Schadenfreude in Memphis

When considering the parties ecstatic about Boston's complete obliteration of the Lakers, don't leave out scorned Memphis Grizzlies fans. Grizz blogger Zack of 3 Shades of Blue emailed his post-Game 6 thoughts on Pau Gasol.
Surely you can see how much Pau hurts the teams he plays for, can't you?

Tonight's performance showed all the things that got him booed repeatedly in Memphis. Stupid turnovers. Holding the ball and letting the defense get set. Falling and flailing on the ground at the wrong times. Did I mention stupid turnovers, which are born from him being deathly scared of double teams?

And his salary goes up next year. And the year after. And the year after. To an astronomical 17 million or something like that. (Ed note: Yep -- $17.8 million in 2010-11.) How much do you think Bynum will demand when he see how much Pau makes?

I'm going to laugh my butt off when I read that "Kobe just needs a better supporting cast" or "Pau just needs a top 5 center next to him." I'll admit, the hate for Pau (after 5 years of this crap) runs deep inside me. Tonight, Memphis gets the taste of sweet vindication. And no, Mitch K., you can not have Kwame's expiring contract back!

Boston isn't the only place for celebration tonight. Virtually the whole town of Memphis -- from the columnist at the Commercial-Appeal to the local sports talk radio hosts to all the Griz fans packing the bars - were rooting for the Celtics and against Pau. Cue Kool and the Gang, cause it's time to celebrate in Memphis.
