Great closing!
Are the Celtics racists, all american blacks BUT not blacks from Africa like Akeem "the dream" or Dikembe Mutombo or the one you just interview DJ Mbenga ?
Two whites put together this team this year
Ainge and McHale maybe they are the racists?

Boston played better D plain and simple... LA is just too much of a finesse team-- Odom, Gasol, Farmar Walton-- boston wanted it more

Playoffs were great and good to see Boston back and boston and lakers was just a treat.
NBA is a fast game and hard to call but lets check replay of Goaltending calls without stopping game and lets check replay for all technical and hard fouls where you get shots and ball.

The joy over this "renewed rivalry" between Boston and LA was more than a little driven by marketers more than anything.
Boston was great this year and deserved to win but LA even being in the finals was more a case of luck rather than their being a team of destiny like the old rivalry.
The current Laker team is not the dominant team of past glory. That was clearly proven in this Finals. They were more than a little lucky with Bynum going down and having very good luck that Gasol meshed so well. That said, the West was very close and the records 1-8 were not all that far apart. With Boston shining in the East, for a long time we were hearing how great it would be to have a Lakers/Celtics Finals.
I'm not saying there was a conspiracy but the Lakers were more than a little lucky and the NBA got its dream match-up... and it fell flat on its face!
The biggest advantage for the Lakers is also the teams biggest disadvantage- #24.
So many bloggers seem to feel LA is owed a championship because of the past. How ridiculous! the past rivalries were because both teams were great but thats history! There are a lot of teams now in the Western conference that don't get the hype but are probably going to clean the Lakers' clock next season- yet bloggers want to already crown them next year's champs!
Like frank, you need to remember (as Boston showed you) basketball is a team sport and the best TEAM should win. Screw the marketing B.S.

Great Playoffs
The Commissioner and all the staff involved made their plan work to a T. Stern, McHale and Ainge worked hard to bring back power to the East and everything worked out as planned. Now the Commish office has to finish the NY Knick project to get them on their feet and begin plans to refurbish NJ and keep Philly on the upward swing. All this will take a couple of seasons, then we will see changes in the Central Division followed by weak teams in the Northwest and the Pacific div..This is NBA RAW!!!Market the product....$$$ching...ching$$$

Running up the score. tired of hearing about it.
when 24 point leads are over come saftey margins have to be large. Think kobe would have run the score higher if he had the chance. If the Celtics wanted to run up the score they would have left their first team stay in and not dribble out the last minutes.
The biggest bad play Kobe made was the steal (un-called foul) on Pierce in game 5, Celtics might have won and the Lakers would not have been embarresed.
Biggest chuckle is listening to the Hollywood Laker fans complaining about Boston acting. KG did a good act when he was falling on his back and making the shot.
Maybe the Lakers should take acting lessons from the Celtics.

Game 2 in Boston was certainly poor officiating. That would have made a psychological difference. In sports, the psychological advantage is huge. The series would have been 1 - 1 going into 3 games in LA. Also had Bynum been in the Finals, there would have been a tighter series.
