Tom,
If you were a GM of a team that viewed Portland as a threat, either in competing for a playoff spot this season or for bidding on free agents next offseason, what would stop you from pissing in their proverbial gas tank and signing Darius Miles to two 10 day contracts? From a business perspective, I just don't see how you can let them off the hook like this.
