Though it was just a pre-season game, Lakers Center Andrew Bynum looked great in Friday's contest against the OKC Thunder. 'Drew scored 23 points in 29 minutes on 10-of-15 shooting. He also grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shoots during the contest. This performance got Lakers Coach Phil Jackson all jazzed up. Here's L.A. Times Lakers scribe Mike Breshnahan with the details:His timing on alley-oop dunks was back, his defensive instincts continued to improve and he demonstrated a nice touch on a fadeaway from the post with two seconds left in the third quarter.Highlights of Friday's contest after the jump
"That's his game," Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said. "With his timing coming back, he knows the pass is going to be there, that he can roll out and get the lobs and easy baskets that are really important to this offensive unit. Those things are nice to see."
Bynum's ability to return to form was a big question mark coming into the season, so having playing like this has to give this team a ton of confidence going into the season. It also has to strike fear in a lot of teams across the league. I mean, did you see that play where Kobe Bryant drove to the basket, faked to Bynum and then passed to Pau Gasol for an easy layup? Those are the kind of plays Kobe can make when he has choices. Look out league.
