Earlier, today I posted on the Lakers trying to develop a defense similar to the one the Boston Celtics utilized to defeat the them in the 2008 NBA Finals. So what exactly was Boston's defense all about? How was it so successful? The answer may have been disclosed by this Lakers fan's breakdown of the defense the Celtics played against the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
Outside of the obvious Lakers/Kobe bias displayed by this fan, the video does a great job of showing how potent the Celtics defense was last season. Basically Tom Thibodeau is the Dark Lord. The question for the Celtics this season is are they hungry enough to keep that swarming D going for another championship run.

While his vids are produced wonderfully and he adds "some" evidence to back up his claims, he stretches the truth, manipulates the facts and even lies to make his biased point.
He's been called out in many of the texts on his YouTube page.
I've edited some videos (not as good as his I lament) to challenge some of his allegations, you can view them here:

This isn't a plug for my channel or my vids, its just to show both sides and to counter many of his claims.
Thanks

sorry dude, but that is complete BULLSHIT. not just because i'm a lakers fan, but seriously the officiating in the finals was absolute garbage. i heard someone say that didn't know what was more real during the finals...the NBA or the WWF.
You CANNOT deny how many times the announcers would say "thats a bad call" "that's a no call", "that a horrible call", "i can't believe they called/didn't call that". if you're saying you DIDNT hear that, and it wasn't tilted in the celtics direction all series long...you're a liar. game 2 was a shining example, Powe taking more FT attempts than the entire laker team combined? sorry but thats horseshit, and everyone knows it.

"some" evidence? you are ridiculous, guy. dozens of instances only count as some?
it is what it is, interpret it however you want.
no one is going to take away the title from your beloved celtics, so relax
"refute allegations"

Well, I understand this video is about INAPPRIOPRIATE defence, not good defence. If we agree with the author, many of this defence "skills" are illegal.

Wow, who knew that double- and triple-teams were illegal.
And I just thought Kobe sucked.

This is the most bullshit video I have ever seen!
He claims that Jordan played against smaller and weaker defenders in 1 on 1 situations, that is completely untrue. Jordan probably faced more double team and triple team situations than any other player in the history of NBA. He even got double/triple teamed when he was moving without the ball! Just watch this video and you'll get an idea of what kind of defense Jordan faced.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5auPSMaD3vE
And why is he bitching about double and triple teams anyway, that's part of basketball, it's something any great offensive player has to deal with and play through. If he can't handle that, he should just go back to his room and jack off to his jonah's brother's concert videos.
Some of the clips he shows where Kobe is getting hand checked is just ridiculous. The defender would barely tap or brush Kobe, and he would cry like a little bitch who just lost her Hannah Montana poster. Jordan had to play through hand checks his entire career, and guess what, it was allowed back then, and you tell me today's game is not softer. Sometimes defenders would even put both hands on Jordan, just short of a bear hug.
The game in the 90s was definitely more physical than that of today. Jordan got hammered countless number of times going in the lane. I'm not saying Kobe faced soft defense against the Celtics, but I'm saying that's what he should expect to play against and overcome, because he is the best offensive player in the game today, of course people are going to give him more attention and play more aggressive against him. Jordan had to play against that kind of defense his entire career and got 6 rings, so stop bitching and cover up your vagina.
