Every weird storyline and painful vignette seeping from New York's 1-0 start can be traced back to Stephon Marbury. The current laugh-o-rama (that's sarcastic) has to do with the theory that Mike D'Antoni called Knicks fans "a--holes" for chanting for some Starbury during a blow-out. The line in question, according to some lip-reading from the New York Post's Marc Berman, goes like this:"You've got to be (bleeping) kidding me. You've got to be (bleeping) kidding me. What a bunch of (bleep) holes."D'Antoni and others with the team insist the referees were the (bleep)holes. Still, D'Antoni did admit his curiosity as to why fans do chant for Starbury, saying that sometimes fans don't get it.
The Knicks have to know by now no one will trade for Marbury this season. Sure, he's a giant expiring contract. But the Knicks won't be taking back long-term salary in an exchange, and few teams have the right combination of desire to employ the league's most volatile point guard and $20 million in dead expiring contracts.
So, there's only one real way to fix the problem: waive Marbury.
Knicks owner James Dolan is opposed to that idea. Of course he is. The New York Daily News reports Dolan vetoed a Marbury buy-out. The philosophy behind that, apparently, is that Dolan is tired of paying personnel for nothing.
Earth to Dolan, come in Dolan: Starbury is doing nothing right now! He could not do less to earn his salary, actually. Further, he is a source of angst for your star coach, your new front office and potentially your other players. And by waiving him, you could pick up another player who might actually be able to help. If D'Antoni won't play him, you might as well sign that check, holmes.

It is easy to say waive $21M, when it is not your cash. The PR fallout in a NYC where people are being laid off on a near daily bases will be interesting to say the least. And if he goes on to perform well, well the Knicks falter, the coach and GM will never recover from the embrassment.

The Knicks LUV to be a CIRCUS...I guess if you can't be good then be newsworthy!! If the dude is going to be here then let hm play...if you're not going to play him, then waive him. Steph proved last summer that he is VERY capable of playing a MSG CLOWN!! So if you want to see how D'Antoni will manage a circus keep going in the same direction. If you want to play high stakes POKER with a guy you owe $22M, in his last year who by the way CAN'T LOSE $$'s...while you're trying to rebuild your franchise?? If they're trying to get out of paying $$'s by baiting him into a meltdown then as usual the FAN will lose once again.
I'm a DIEHARD Knick and I just this whole mess to not interfere with the current UNDEFEATED season
GO NY GO!!!

Why is D'Antoni so suprised? This is NY and you have to realize that. It's the hardest place to play and coach in the world. Even when your winning, you still face the fans and the media and all the heat and pressure that brings. He has to learn to deal with that so a situation like this can be avoided next time. Anyways, found a cool deal for Knicks tickets that I figured I would share with everyone. They have 50% off deals for the 11/2 and 11/5 games at nyknicks.com when you type in FACE. Good way to get fans to the games to support our team.

If Starbury wantsany chance of signing another big contract with Any team, then he should at least appear to be motivated. Give him a chance and maybe the team and the star can help each other!

Try to trade Marbury and Eddie Curry for Al Harrington and future pick Al would be a good look in the new Knick system he can shoot and he has a back to the basket game that the the Knicks are desperatly missing. I know you say what about a big man shot blocker one thing at a time lol But for real Al harrington plus he is a Jersey guy he would love to come home he wants out of Golden State.
