Please excuse the overly-used phrase in the headline, but it actually applies here (and plus, I'm a huge Soundgarden fan). An interesting tidbit came out of the Celtics' visit to Toronto over the weekend. Chris Bosh, who has elevated his game to rock star status this season, was visibly frustrated during his team's blowout loss, to the point where someone in the visitor's locker room decided to weigh in on the situation.
That someone was Kevin Garnett, who can definitely relate to being the star on a bad team, as he was for several of his seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. KG said it might be time for Bosh to start thinking about his future.
"I don't know the situation here or what he's going through but tonight he looked pretty frustrated," said Garnett. "When you're a good player and trying to be better, trying to be one of the premiers in this league, trying to set your mark, you want the help around you. He has to make a decision on whether he wants to be here."It's a little early for Bosh to be thinking about forcing his way out of town, isn't it? Garnett himself played for 12 seasons before leaving 'Sota, and not everyone has the luxury of teaming with two other All-Stars to win a championship in their first season with a new team. We're only 13 games in here, people. Let's give the Raps a chance to figure things out. If they don't, and Bosh keeps putting up 40-point games, he'll have his pick of places to play in 2010. But really, there isn't any rush.

Come to the Pistons Chris. Joe Dumars get what Joe Dumars want ;)
I'm curious how leading the question was that was asked of Garnett. Encouraging a player to quit on his team 15 games into the season seems outside the character of Garnett, who is known as a fighter to the very last second. Of course, Glen Taylor and others would say KG himself quit on the Timberwolves in his last season there, but is it possible that this is simply a mind game meant to discourage another Eastern Conference semi-contender? KG can't seriously believe that Chris Bosh, who normally seems like he's having fun, should quit on a constantly over-performing Raptors team because they happen to be at .500 at less than the quarter mark of the season.
Bosh should learn from what KG does, rather than what he says. Fight hard every game, and eventually those tough times will lead to some better ones.
Colangelo should take this situation seriously. The kid needs help and needs to be surrounded by other top tiere talent like Jose as he continues to elevate his ball iq.
Guys like moon, kp, ap....they havent shown up!! (ie: not consistently nite after nite) and that is fustrating. Too many other examples to mention here so I better move on.
Therefore, 2010 is not too far off and with so many more lucrative "opps" out there management better bite the bullet and give this guy the tools he needs to not be distracted....including a much better coach.
This guy loves the city and its mosaic vibes which shows in the dreds. We cant afford to loose this kid.
