It's pretty easy to feel bad for the city of Cleveland. None of their sports teams can manage to win anything, and everyone seems to believe that LeBron James is headed to New York in 2010. So that's why, when he debuts a new line of Nike shoes called the "LeBron VI Big Apple" on the night the Cavs play the Knicks, you kind of have to chuckle at the general paranoid aura floating out of the city that rocks! (Via Nike Press Release)
The Zoom LeBron VI performance basketball shoe represents the essence of LeBron James: team, toughness, passion and vision. James worked with Nike designer Ken Link to create a shoe that meets his performance needs and the needs of players with a powerful, dynamic style of play. So, yeah, pride. Family. Passion. New York!
[...]The shoe's collar has been engineered with a wider opening so it's easier to slip on and wear while maintaining a full-length fit feel. On the collar, graffiti art highlights LeBron's mantras-passion, family, winning, fearless and vision.
Kidding. Kind of. There's certainly more at stake tonight -- one would presume -- than just the matter of the shoe. There's the fact that the Knicks just punted on a would-be great conundrum of Mike D'Antoni, Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph to drag Al Harrington and Cuttino Mobley's expiring contracts into town. Oh yes. And the fact that LeBron has a decent history of blowing up in the Garden. Couple that with any number of Knicks writers begging for New Yorkers to treat Bron like he'll be there in a few years and you should probably tune in, if not only for the shoes.

Bron is playing the media and the whole city of NY for the fools they are.Even IF he leaves Cleveland, which is unlikely,it won't be for the rotten apple. It would make much more sense for him to join Wade and Beasley in Miami. The media is so clueless.
We will sure hate to see him go but I see him in a Celtic uniform in a couple years. Basketball and Baseball is all the same. If you are pro caliber, in the back of your mind you want to be a Celtic. In Baseball, if you are pro caliber, you want to be a Yankee. The history is there and it is hard to argue with the facts of history.
Get the hell off this subject. We have two more years to listen to this crap. This isn't baseball, New York. You can't buy a team in the NBA and as we all well know, it hasn't worked out for you in baseball lately!
Id like Lebron in New York, and with that extra romm NY has, grab Bosh at the same time, dont forget his contract expires that same year
For all you Cleveland fans - wave goodbye to your star Lebron. Do you guys ever wonder why he wears all these new shoes when in New York and makes such a big deal out of playing at MSG? BECAUSE he wants to be there! What can be bigger for him to be playing in the sports capital of the world. The Nike Zoom Lebron VI "big apple" is just foreshadowing the imminent. my thoughts http://jib-sports-culture.blogspot.com/2008/11/lebron-vi-big-apple-foreshadows-lebron.html
Only the NY SUCKERS think Bron wants to play on that loser team.Bron is playing you people like a bass fiddle. lol
