Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the lig. Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.If Carlos Boozer opts out of the final year of his contract as expected this summer, I'm guessing the Jazz will let him leave without joining a bidding war. Why? Two words: Paul Millsap.
Boozer has been sidelined since late November with a strained quad, allowing Millsap to prove himself in an extended audition in the starting lineup. In his last 11 games, he's averaged 18.6 points on 56% shooting with 11.6 boards.
He scored a career-high 32 points with 10 boards, two blocks and two steals last night, and while his performance would have been sweeter had the Jazz won, his individual performance is all the more impressive when you realize he did it against reigning DPoY Kevin Garnett.
Good things in small packages: The Suns have been searching for a backup point guard since, well, forever. They almost found one in 2005 when they drafted Nate Robinson, but he was sent to New York in the Q-Rich trade. Nate-Rob showed his original team exactly what they missed out on last night by scoring a game-high 27 points with nine boards, five assists and three steals in 36 minutes off the bench. As impressive as his night was, it could have been much better had he possessed any accuracy from long distance: he made just one of 10 three-point attempts.
The Big Fourth: Rajon Rondo continued his dark horse campaign for an All-Star bid with a near triple-double, scoring a team-high 25 points to go with nine boards, eight assists and three steals.
