In an effort to preserve his legs for the postseason,
Tracy McGrady has decided to take
a page out of Shaquille O'Neal's book and sit out a game whenever the Rockets play games on consecutive nights. From
Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:
"Me and coach talked about it, and I think when we do have back-to-backs, we'll really have communication to decide which game I should play and which game I should sit out.
Rick Adelman suggested that matchups would likely determine which game McGrady missed, which seems smart at first but could potentially bite the Rockets if opposing teams use McGrady's absence as motivation that the Rockets are taking them for granted. But if you're a McGrady fan thinking of picking up tickets to see him play, be sure to check the schedule before buying.

If T Mac is in THAT bad of shape, then perhaps he should hang up his sneakers and bring his walker out of the locker room...for someone who makes as much as he does, he should either have better trainers, better nutritionists, better doctors or something...other players have play Many more games than he has and still do back to backs....maybe he should Also give up his salary to charity for the nights he doesn't play...I wonder how keen he'd be to do that....

Giff might be right but I think the NBA teams keep these players to sell tickets. Most of the contracts are locked and you can't just dump the employee without reasonable compensation. It is good money to give up but I believe that the team can get other players to make up for his loss.
