Antoine Walker Arrested for Drunk Driving

Antoine WalkerAntoine Walker has been unemployed since the Grizzlies bought out his contract in December, and, well, you know what they say about idle hands. With nothing to occupy his time, he was arrested early this morning on suspicion of drunk driving:
Walker was driving a black Mercedes without the lights on when he was pulled over at 5:39 a.m., according to the arrest report. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and wrote in the report that Walker had a sleepy look on his face. He refused a breathalyzer test.
Walker has always carried a fair amount of baggage due to a questionable attitude and poor conditioning, and now that he has a DUI on his record, there's even less incentive for another team to give him a shot, at least not this year while his arrest is fresh in everyone's minds.

Even though he's still just 32 years old, there's a good chance his arrest will signal the end of his career. He hasn't appeared in a regular season game since last February, spending the second half of last season in exile on Minnesota's bench and the first couple of months this year on Memphis' sideline.

While it's possible he could get his act together and make an eventual comeback (if Darius Miles can revive his career, anybody can), he's clearly not serious about making the effort just yet.
