A report from the US Airways Center in Phoenix, where the Pacers faced the Suns on January 7th.
That was all the Suns' announcer could think of to say, as the Pacers' Danny Granger sank a cold-blooded three-pointer with just 0.9 on the clock to give Indiana the last second victory in Phoenix.
Granger finished with a game high 37 points, and was hot all night long. So the question is, how was he that wide open for a game-winner, when he was clearly the one guy on the floor that the Suns did not want to see taking that shot? Afterwards, Terry Porter did his best to explain.
"We talked about switching everything," Porter said. "Somehow we had two guys going with the curl guy and he popped out, Steve saw him open and jumped out, but we just didn't do a good job of communication in that situation.
"They started up in a line, we had a couple of guys on the outside, and we just talked about switching everything. So, Grant may have started on him .. but there was some talking there as to who went with the curl guy, and we had two guys go."
Obviously, not a great time for a breakdown in communication. It's pretty incredible that the one player on the floor that the Suns were trying to stop from taking the shot not only took the shot, but got off an uncontested one at that. But that's exactly how it went down for Danny Granger, and he hit it to give his team yet another win against a quality opponent that the Pacers -- at least on paper -- weren't expected to beat.
