Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the lig. Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.Kobe Bryant got the game-winner and the requisite SportsCenter attention, but the lig's other stars didn't go quietly into the night. In fact, a number of stars had much better lines than Bean. Sorry, Holmes: 33 points on 32 FGAs is not that amazing. To wit, check out what the rest of the league did.
* LeBron James: 30 points on 15 FGAs, with 11 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and a block.
* Dwyane Wade: 31 points on 15 FGAs, eight assists, three rebounds, three steals and three blocks.
* Dirk Nowitzki: 44 points on 26 FGAs and 14 rebounds.
* Kevin Martin: 30 points on 13 FGAs.
* Dwight Howard: 25 points on 10 FGAs, 15 rebounds and four steals.
Basically, what I'm tryin' to say: you give any other Alpha in the league 32 shots against any defense, and there's a good chance they'll be able to score 33 points, too. Not to diminish Kobe as a whole -- his season has featured good shooting on the whole; just keep his gaudy point total in perspective. A number of gaudy scorers are more efficient than the MVP.

kobe doesn't have the physical tools that lebron has so its not really fair to compare a physical freak of nature to an excellent top 10 all-time SG
the rest of those guys had pretty amazing nights but aside from Dwayne Wade only Lebron puts up those numbers consistantly. Maybe Dwight Howard too.

Dwight Howard is the leader on his team
in scoring and boards NOT in assists
so he needs someone to feed him ,
in another words Kobe, Lebron and
Wade, do not.

Dude, You need to get a life. Picking some random night to make a useless point just shows your bias and does nothing for your crediblity. If you are not being an ass how do you score 30 points on 13 FGAs? Where they not attempting shots when the FTs were awarded?
Everybody has a poor shooting night, where are you when Kobe shoot's 10 FGM from 17 FGAs? The more i read your diatribe, the more i realise that your entire existance on these pages is a waste of space. The shame is that you actually do have talent, pity that your heart will not allow your head to do it's work.

someone please explain definitively why it's so important to compare what amounts not just apples to oranges...but apples to rutabagas to chicken stew and to lettuce....ALL the scenarios have SOO many variations inherent that it's stupid to assume that ANY one player on any given night is facing the same situation enough to be compared...defenses are different, road/home is different, coaches and their offensive/defensive schemes are different, the on or off shooting of the player's teammates and the opposing defense is different, the team themselves and how they orient toward a player is different...WHEN WILL PEOPLE FREAKIN GET IT...THE COMPARISONS ARE STUPID AND POINTLESS AND WITHOUT ANY FACTUAL MERIT....the ONLY thing one might consider is the player's performance against themselves in a similar situation against the same team...THEN AND ONLY THEN DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING APPROACHING SIMILARITY TO BEGIN TO MAKE A STATISTICAL COMPARISON...Geez....don't people know how stats really work???
