LeBron's Anticlimactic Announcement: Buy Insurance from State Farm

In that it was widely suggested to be a marketing gimmick, LeBron James' big Jan. 18 announcement did not disappoint. The anticlimactic reveal leaked to TrueHoop late Friday ... and it's not even a marketing gimmick. It's just an ad for State Farm Insurance.



It's good to see the insurance industry turn to celebrities other than Dennis Haysbert to pitch fine risk-aversion products. I imagine thousands of youngsters will be calling up the local State Farm rep to get a policy on their, um, skateboards.
