FanHouse's NBA Guide gives you a daily look at all the games that matter ... and some that don't. HEADLINER
L.A. Lakers at Boston, 8PM ET, TNT
After the build up to the Christmas day knife fight, as well as the darn good game that resulted, you don't need us to build this up. Insatiable offense led by Kobe Bryant, unbreakable defense led by Kevin Garnett. Mix in the spare parts that'd be Object A on any other team and you've got (the closest thing to NBA) war.
You don't need more hype ... but you do need a FanHouse live blog, led by bastion of objectivity* Brett Pollakoff, beginning (um) live at 8PM ET here at FanHouse.
UNDERCARD
Dallas at Utah, 10:30PM ET, TNT
It's been a while since we've had the following:
a) A road gimmie on the back end of a TNT doubleheader.
b) A nationally televised game in which the home Jazz look like pending roadkill.
c) A game against a legit contender in which Dallas seems like an easy favorite.
This says more about the Jazz than the Mavericks, but don't sleep on a small renaissance in Big D. Road wins in Miami and Orlando to go with a victory over the explosive Blazers -- nothing to sneeze, cough or blow raspberries at. The tangibility of the mini-streak remains to be assessed, but given Utah's on(and on and on)going health issues, a statement stand in Salt Lake seems more likely than not.
Dirk Nowitzki might punch Matt Harpring in the mouth. Who doesn't want to see this?
Indiana at Philadelphia, 7PM ET
The Pacers really are the best 19-30 team I have ever seen. Indiana should be tussling with the Sixers in the standings ... but even the eighth seed seems so far away.

Oh No here comes the Black Mamba aarrrrgghhh!!!!!
Hey Juan,
No, more like the Black Mamba whipped my ass again this season.
It is not about Kobe or KG
Kobe has 3 rings and KG just got his;
It is about Pau Gasol that after he got
his ROY and a gold medal and recently a
silver medal he is ready to get his first ring
in the NBA ,guarantee.
In fact, Kobe is a lucky man he had a Shaq
for his 3 rings NOW he has a Gasol for his
fourth, fifth or ??? go figure but at least
he will have # 4 guarantee, as well.
The fact is that LA has another big man
that can deliver that can shoot fouls as
well and very good in assists and can play
46 minutes nonstop with no injuries and if
Kobe scores 61 points he will score 31 points
and if Kobe scores 36points he will score 31 points and if Kobe scores 26 points he will
score 24 points plus 14 boards and so on....
you get the picture in a quiet way unlike Shaq.
