Doing Lines: Zach Randolph Busts Moves, Grizzlies

Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the lig. Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.

I've never heard of this Zach Randolph fellow, but he put up something fierce down in Memphis. The oft-moved Z-Bo threw up 35 points in 36 minutes, and pulled down 10 rebounds. As many laugh riots as the Worst Possession in the History of Western Civilization caused, Randolph actually has a bit of a deep deep stroke: he hit four of five threes for the Clips.

L.A. is only 11-39 this season, only a half-game better than the league's worst record. But when Randolph plays, the team is a respectable (but still bad) 7-10. I never thought we'd see the day Zach Randolph would be a major ingredient in a winning formula.

Laying Waste to Expectations: We've blasted the Thunder horn for a month now, but round of applause for Nick Collison please: 21 points, 13 rebounds, zero turnovers against ... Greg Oden and the Blazers. I won't apologize for calling them "Greg Oden and the Blazers" -- No. 1 pick standing and the luck of ping pong balls ain't free. Oden had four points, two rebounds, two turnovers, almost zero impact.

Birdman Soars: I gave some gruff to The Birdman a few days ago, so it's necessary to highlight a great performance: 13 points and five blocks, with no turnovers. Efficiency and defense ... just what third bigs should offer.
