D-Leaguer Serves Up Best Dunk Contest Perfomance of Weekend

Saturday's Slam Dunk Contest was quite entertaining. Dwight Howard and Nate Robinson put on a great show with their Superman and Kyrpto-Nate act. However -- minus the comic book showmanship -- the dunks themselves might have been topped in another dunk contest earlier in the weekend.

In Friday's D-League Slam Dunk Contest, former first round pick James White put on a show that lived up to the folklore of his dunking ability. After the jump, take a look at some at the dunks White threw down during the D-League contest.



I know those highlights went by pretty quickly, but don't sleep on that free throw line dunk. That was a REAL free throw line dunk with White's foot well behind the free throw line at take off. I'm still hopeful that "Flight" White will eventually be in the NBA long enough to be invited to the Slam Dunk Contest. I have a feeling that he's holding out some of his best dunks for an eventual NBA Slam Dunk Contest appearance. I mean, the guy has completed both through-the-legs and windmill dunks from the free throw line. Believe me, no one in the NBA wants to compete with this guy in a Slam Dunk Contest.
